i would love to be able to read novels translated into roman urdu!

Urdu itself, I can sometimes read..like billboards, or the backs of rickshaws/buses, if it's written more like arabic I don't have a problem...but the television, newspaper, risaala script...no way

check out the myriad on-line quran schools that are now operating via skype, most of them teach urdu as well!

Are you only interested in the novels which are adapted for dramas? In case you are interested in novels other than this, Quratulain Haide's 'Aag Ka Darya' was translated in English, which is a good read for those who have interest in Indo-Pak history.

^^i LOVE Indo-Pak history, will definitely check that one out!

So far, the only real Pakistani books I've read are:

"My Feudal Lord" by Tehmina Durrani

      and

"Dancing Girls of Lahore: Selling Love and Hoarding Dreams in Pakistan's Ancient Pleasure District" by Louise Brown

Neither are fiction though, so I'd love to get into some true "novels"

Tehmanina Durrani's (once Tehmina Khar and now Mr Shahbaz Shareef) my feudal lord is one of those books which beat fiction inspite of not being fiction. One of my friend says, its the most favorite book of the upper class girls and you can see that almost all book stalls of Defence and Clifton.
