Assalamo Alaikum,
I am new to this forum. I have written a book which is going to be published inshallah by the end of Feb/early Mar. It is available on the internet and for the past few days I have been trying to paste the URL here but whenever I try, the message I get is that I need to have at least 25 messages posted on the forum before being allowed to paste a url. Sorry folks, but if you are still interested, you can try world wide web dot bookhabit dot com slash book slash 1448 slash NEITHER-A-JUST-WAR-NOR-JUST-A-WAR

Any body heard about Daniyal Mueenuddin, the latest Pakistani literary sensation? His first book composed of short stories started a bidding war between 13 major US and UK publishers. Since I am new to the forum, I am not allowed to post the URL here. Just google and you'll find everything about him including his short stories.

^ I had downloaded your book from bookhabit but didn't get a chance to read it yet - will do so soon. Congratulations on getting it published
BTW, you're from Al-Ain... wow! my childhood hometown - spent first 14 years of my life there.

Lucid,
Thanks. Yes, I am living and working in Al Ain for the past ten years. It has become a big city lately.

"A History of Insects" by Yvonne Roberts
By chance I picked up this book at the library yesterday. It's about a 9 year old British girl growing up in Peshawar in the late 50s. She keeps a secret diary, full of her observations about the adults around her, the hypocrites, the wife beaters, adulterers, the spineless, the drunk, the religious bullies (ironically--NOT Muslims). Aside from a few historical references, the fresh wounds of Partition, communism across the world, etc. you'd think it was taking place just yesterday.
I'll write a more indepth review when i am finished, but I definitely recommend this to everyone who's interested in this subjevct matter.
