Do you feel that majority has failed to understand the message of Punjabi and Sindhi Sufi Poets? Why there's no rest and tranquility in People of these regions? I think most people don't read them anymore and those who read don't really get the understanding because of materialistic world they're living in. A friend of mine from Government College wants to come to the UK to feel the "mystical" things.... she thinks there's no way you can become Sufi while living in Pakistan. I obviously don't agree with her but what's wrong with us, seriously?

I think West is more into materialism than Pakistan but people of both sides are suffering from the diseases of heart and soul.

I'm a low and horrible person! Understanding the Kalam gives you this feeling, well , atleast I feel this way. Am I supposed to feel that? Is it right to have such feelings?

Caution:
Sufi Kalam with traditional musical instruments is allowed in few Sufi tariqas but there are lots of conditions with it, for example, if you think by listening the kalam is taking you close to Allah and not distracting you from Him, instruments should be only traditional, the listener should not take pleasure in music and many others conditions.

Now there are people who are actually making lots of money by singing Sufi Kalam in their terrible voices with all the modern and non-traditional instruments and they don't actually follow Shariah and Tariqa thus are not able to understand the message nor make others understand it but mislead and misguide them.

yeah u r rite that as a nation we have failed to understand the msg of sufi's.

i think one of reason is the language is bit difficult to understand and the 2nd is we have become too materialistic.

If time is not real, then the dividing line between this world and eternity, between suffering and bliss, between good and evil, is also an illusion.

i m sharing a The song is in Saraiki language and it is written by Baba Bulley Shah.
Song is also part of Khuda Kay Liyay.

Bulley no samjhawan aayan behna te bharjaiaan,
Munlay bullehya sada kehna chad de pala rayaan
Aaale nabi Aulade Ali noo too kyoun leeka laayaan
Jehra sano Syed saday doozakh milan sazayaan

Raaeen Saaeen subhni Thaeee
Rab diyan be parwa yan
Sohiyaan pare hataian te kojiah lay Gul layaan
Jay tu Loray Baagh baharan Chakar ho ja raai yan
Bulley shah di zaat ke puchni Shaakar ho Raziaaan
Bandeyaaa hoooo ,Bandeya

actally bulle shah is being asked by his relatives to leave his murshid or guru whom he call as ‘raaean’ or ‘raaniya” probably that was the caste of his mursheed or peer – hazrat shah anayat which was lower then bulle shahs own caste. every one was after his life to leave his guru.

thats why he explains through this song, who ever calls him sayed( bulle shahs caste) will be punished in hell and who ever calls him raaniya will be showerd with blessings. because for him his mursheed is everything and his caste is now his gurus and in whatever guru orders and decides for him – shakar or raziaan apne mursheed ki raza mein razi rehna, thats what love is. jo woh khuda deta hai usi mein khush rehna.

if love is pure truthfull and selfless then its becomes form of god. jab woh khuda, allah kisi caste system ko nai manta , uske liye to sab uske bacche hai to bhai tum kyon mante ho ?

khuda ka saccha aashiq sirf khuda ko manta hai aur kisi ko nai, na kisi caste system ko, na kisi majhab ko.
khuda se saccha ishq karo, ishq hi khuda hai.

Lyrics for Bandeya ho… Dazzledooey’s Weblog

Disclaimer:**This is my personal opinion**

Sufis represent a valid quest of a beleiver/humans, that to have a connection with God, something that goes beyond the rituals.

I think you people are over simplifying Sufism. To understand Sufiana kalam, one needs to have an in depth understanding of Sufism first. Where shariat is mostly based on logic and facts, tareeqat is mostly based on faith. And to understand susism or Sufiana Kalam, one needs a guide because without a guide the risk of misunderstanding the ideology is very high. So before trying to understand sufism, we may need to look for a guide and the rest will depend on our choice of the guide. If we choose a wrong guide then, my friends, we are doomed.

Have you people heard of any Sufi who did not have a guide? by guide I mean, a teacher, a peer, a murshid or whatever you call it.

What I said is my personal belief and I would suggest that anyone who is interested in understanding sufism needs to find the right kind of guide first. Just by reading sufiana kalam and reading about sufism we may not understand it correctly.

"It's one of the gods of Africa, It holds the power of life and death. An elephant can kill you. A lion or leopard can kill you. And a mamba can kill you. But with a mamba bite, since the dawn of time, it's sure. It is death incarnate."
