A Columbian national arrested Wednesday in Houston in connection with a string of house burglaries targeting Indians, Pakistanis and Middle Easterners is being investigated in connection with similar crimes in The Woodlands
Anil Adoni, of The Woodlands, said with about 200 families of Indian American descent in the community, many are breathing easier because of the arrest.
“We feel good that someone has been caught,” Adoni said. “We know they are a gang, but hopefully the gang will move on or things will stop. Yesterday was the first time I could sleep in peace after this whole thing started.”
Authorities say the burglars identify potential targets in public, then figure out where they live, then break in hoping to find high-dollar jewelry, particularly 22- or 24-karat gold.
