Hi,
I am going to Dubai from Canada for a few weeks. Want to know stuff to do other than go to malls etc. I've heard about the desert Safari which I'll but what else. Also what is a good price to pay for a hotel, and what is a good location. I am not looking to spend time in Malls but rather looking for stuff outdoors (as wether should be nice) I guess I am hoping for beach resort type experience is that possible in Dubai? Also are there historical places to check out other than the usual *bling*
I know there are a few threads and I looked through them but they cater to people from Pk going to Dubai and mostly suggest malls, I am wondering if there is something other than that.
Thanks!

Aside from the malls and beaches here in dubai, you can visit the seven star hotel, Burj Al Arab.Other than that ,you can go for Desert Safari and Creek dinner cruise. Also, take an Abra to cross the Creek and visit the Textile Souk and Gold Souk in one trip. Visit the Madinat Jumairah indoor Souk & waterside restaurants...
Success starts with beginning...

It really depends what kind of activities you're into. In terms of outdoor stuff I would recommend a desert safari of course. If you have more than just a few days, you could even book an overnight package for that.
Then you can go Jetskiing at Mamzar Park, drive around the Dubai Autodrome, visit Wild Wadi and the beaches, go for a skydive at UAQ Aeroclub, chill out at the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi, etc.
That's all I can think of at the moment. If you are travelling in the next few weeks, the weather will be very nice. You might experience a few rainy days in December though.

depends on what kind of hotel you are looking for, there are all kinds of hotels. if you want wifi, luxury amenities like spa beach 5 star etc etc then the prices are high but if you can forget about the extras and just want to stay in a room for some days which is decent then that is also available... golden tulip near mall of the emirates is nice...

Ok so I don't really need an ultra luxury hotel but I would like to be able to go sit on a beach ... and maybe do some snorkling etc... I've been to Burj Al Arab on a tour before its ok but I don't need to sit in a 7,000 room I wanna go out and see stuff!

Umer, are there any tour groups that offer these packages? or do you suggest exploring on your own is better? Thanks.
All other dubai guppies, can you kindly suggest a reasonable place to stay? many thanks!
