Folks ...
My friend has a 22 hour transit stay in Dubai .. on his way to lahore from manchester ...
now the question is , he wants to do some of his general shopping ( shampoos, lotions , creams etc ) from dubai ... and friends are telling us the dubai airport authorities wont allow any liquids specially for transit travellors ...
he is flying with Emirates .. any ideas?

Your friends are right. The airport rules regarding liquids in hand baggage apply on flights to/from Dubai as well. You can take that stuff in your checked-in baggage, but not in your hand luggage. Since he will be in transit, I'm guessing that his luggage will be checked through from Manchester to Lahore, so he won't have the bags in Dubai to put those shampoos in.

^^???
Umer, I guess if someone purchases liquid from Dubai Airport Duty Free, then they give you those in SEALED envelopes and the authorities deliver it directly only at boarding time.. So he can buy the stuff from Dubai Duty Free.
Else 22 hours is a enough time, he can go out shop the hell out and re-check in and put the stuff as checked beggage..
