I wouldn't take the risk. 5 hours is a bit too short and you might miss your onward flight.

If you have any relatives, you can call them at the airport and spend the 5 hours with them in one of the coffee shops or restaurants.

I used to do that all the time. Take my camera, go plane-spotting!
On topic though, five hours is kinda tight. You could easily spend a couple of hours browsing the transit lounge and stuff. You are a girl after all 'eh. If you want to chance it, check out Bin Sougat Shopping Mall towards Rashidiyah, grab some Baskin Robbins, browse the shops, etc... Although its kind of a small mall, won't be much different to the duty-free.
You could easily check out Deira City Centre as well. Not too far, definitely accomplished within five hours.

Kinda late really unfortunately
I'll advise you to carry a book, magazine, etc... Spend some time in the airport duty-free/transit lounge, etc... and then kick back with the book/magazine...
Perhaps next time you can stay for longer and see a bit more of the city

Yeah, they've got free wifi at the airport but you'll have to find a good spot. All the best!

Most of the shops at Deira City Centre will be open until 10 PM. If it's a weekend, then it even goes until midnight. But as I said, 5 hours is very tight and if I was you, I wouldn't go out.
