One day of the many days
There was a man traveling on a trip with his Wife and Kids
And on the way he met someone standing in the roadway
So he asked him: Who are you?
He said:
*I am the money*

So the man asked his wife and kids :
Should we ask him to ride with us?

One day of the many days
There was a man traveling on a trip with his Wife and Kids
And on the way he met someone standing in the roadway
So he asked him: Who are you?
He said:
I am the money

So the man asked his wife and kids :
Should we ask him to ride with us?

They said together: Yes of course because with the money it can help us if we wanted to do anything, and if we wanted to get anything we desired,
So they took the Money to ride with them.

And the vehicle continued its way until the man
met someone else on the road

So the Father asked: Who are you?

He said:

I am the high position and power

So the father asked his wife and kids :
Should we ask him to ride with us?

So they all answered together in one voice:

Yes of course because with the high position and power we have the ability to do anything we want and own anything we desired.

So they took the high position and power with them
And the vehicle continued to finish its trip .

And likewise he met in the same manner many people which give the pleasures and desires of this life, UNTIL ..
They met one person on the way..

The Father asks him Who are you?

He said: I am the Deen (Islam)

So the father, wife, and kids said all together in one voice: No no this isn't the time, we desire the pleasures of this life and dunyah, and the Deen will prevent us and ban us from these things and it will take control over us, and we will be worn-out from being loyal to it and its learning. And the halal and the Haram, and this thing prayer and that thing hijab, and this fasting , and and and and and etc, It will be a burden upon us!!!

But what is certain is that we will definitely return for you to pick you up but only after we enjoy this life and everything in it.

So sadly they left him behind and the vehicle continued its trip.

And out of no where something appeared in the middle of the road

It was a check point in the road and it had a sign saying

STOP!!!

And they found a man gesturing for the father to get out of the vehicle.

So the man said to the father:
The trip has ended as far as you are concerned!!!!
And it is upon you to get out and come with me.

The father was shocked with fear and didn't say a word.

So the man said to him: I am searching for the DEEN.e Islam Is he with you?

He answered: No I left him not too far back. So if you can let me go back, I can get him for you :

You do not have the ability to go back, your trip has ended and there is no going back now.. returning is impossible said the man.

But I have

The Money,
The high position and power,
My Wife,
My Kids,
and and and and and and on.

The man said to him:
They will not benefit you nor will they
protect you in front of Allah. Not one bit!

And you will leave all of this, and not one of them will help you except for The Deen e Islam you know? The one which YOU left back in the road.
So the father asked: And who are you exactly?

I AM DEATH

The one which you were needless

of and didn't take into account in your trip!!

The father looked at his vehicle and found his wife taking control of it and continuing the trip with all of its passengers but him

And none of them stayed with him, and none of them helped him in any way.

Abu Hurairah (r.a.) reported: Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,
“ Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night.

ASalam O Alaikom,

I have a question, I will ask the sharaee perspective of this issue from a Mufti when I get the opportunity, but want to know the views of people on this forum as I believe many people here would have far greater first hand experience of this issue then me , cause I live in Pakistan & the availability of Halal food is not a concern at all here.

Lately have been traveling for work to some european countries, I dont spend a lot of time at a single place

The practice that I follow for halal food is that I look up for halal places on internet e.g zabihah.com - your guide to halal eating, I trust the reviews of halalness of people on these websites
in addition to that if I find some place that appears to be owned by muslims for instance I generally find a lot of kebab places in here, I ask the owner if the food is halal - if the person is a muslim & they say that the food is halal i trust them - but I have no way to verify whether they are lying or saying the truth.

For non-muslims places I only eat veg or fish, I do ensure that the ingredients of the food do not contain any obvious non halal components but i cannot verify details like for instance if they are using the same utinsils for cooking veg / seafood as non-halal food or if any of the ingredients have any non-halal component , frankly before this I didnt even realize that there are certain preservatives etc. that may compose of non halal ingredients.

I did not have these considerations before was chatting with a friend & he made me realize about this. Inshallah I will try to be more careful now but I want to know what practices people here specially those who live in non muslim countries use for ensuring they are not consuming non halal foods.

Jazakallah khair

Islam Courses in the UK

I've always been interested in religion, I was born into a Deobandi/Barelvi family but I was impressed by the Salaafi concept of Tawheed (Monotheism), their lack of blind Taqleed (adherence) of any one school of judisprudence and their claim that they follow the Quraan and Sunnah according to the Salaaf (the first three generation of Muslims: Sahaabah, Tabieen, Tabi-Tabieen)...

So I bought some Salaafi books from the net to teach me their way of carrying out the religious rituals (not much different except Rafa Al-Yadain) and I started identifiying as Salaafi for a while but then I read some fatwa's and speeches by some Salaafi clerics which I found very unpalatable and very disagreeable...

...I know there's sub-sects within Salaafiyyah and not all Salaafis subscribe to the messed up views of the few but I don't identify as Salaafi anymore, I'm just a freelance Muslim now who believes in and tries to follow the Quraan and Sunnah because I think no sect I've come across is perfect or 100% inline with Quran and Sunnah, all the ones I've come across have some good and some bad...

...I'm probably going to stay a plain simple freelance Muslim but because the Sunnah for me is contained within the Sihah Sittah (Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi etc...) I'll be classed as Sunni by default because these are Sunni collections.

I'll listen to all clerics, whether it's Tahir ul-Qadri or Manzoor Nomani but if what they say is not from/inline-with the Quran and Sunnah then I'll take it with a pinch of salt, I don't care what any Sheikh said if it's not backed up by Allah and His Prophet PBUH.

The Shiahs have different Ahadith, so Shiah clerics might aswell be reading the bagwad gita when they quote their own ahadith because I don't know nothing about their ahadith. I'd like to study them so that I know if there's any truth to them, and even if there's not then knowing that will help me in doing da'wah to Shiahs.

Are there any institutions in the UK which offer Aalim (courses) on Islam from both the Sunni and Shiah point of view?

I'd really like to study Sunnism and Shiahism in detail and make up my own mind rather than relying on what Mullah and hate websites say, because both will twist, misintrepret and mispresent the facts to suit their own agendas.

I wish more people were genuinely interested in the truth rather than just patronising their own sect simply because they are born into it.

:salam:

Imam Al-Ghazali has written extensively in his works Ihya 'ulum al-din.

Here is a piece from the works and I mused at it when reading it one day ... Thought I would share it with all ...

translation by Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad. (TJ Winter)

"Similarly with the man whose hobby is pigeons, who may stand all day in the hot sun without feeling any pain due to the pleasure he takes in his birds, and their movements, flight and soaring around in the sky. And there is the sly criminal who boasts of the blows and stabs he receives, and of his steadfastness under the whip, and who goes up to the cross or the gibbe bragging about his endurance of these [punishments], considering this to be a source of pride: he may be torn limb from limb in an attempt to make him confess to his crime or to that committed by another man with his knowledge, and persevere in his denial, and pay no heed to the punishments because of his joy at what he considers to be his courage and virility. Despite the torment provided by his circumstance, he is delighted by them and finds them a source of pride. And there is no condition more ugly and despicable than that of an effeminate man, who imitates women by plucking our his hair, tottooing his face, and keeping their company, so that you see him rejoicing in his state and boasting of the perfection of his effeminacy to other such men. Even the cuppers and sweepers can be seen boasting to one another just as much as the kings and scholars. All of this is the result of habit and persisting in one course for a long period and seeing the same thing in one's acquaintances.
Since the soul commonly takes pleasure even in vain things and inclines towards ugliness, how could it not take pleasure in the Truth were it to be restored to it for a while and made to persevere therein?"

Note how Imam Al-Ghazali criticises the proud scholars in the same vein of criticism as the other examples ...

After the massacre of Imam Hussein (a.s.) at Karbala, the forces of Yazid took the children and the women as prisoners. They were taken from Karbala to Kufa and from Kufa to Damascus, the capital and stronghold of Umayyid power.
In Damascus, the women and children were presented into the court of Yazid. Yazid had assembled all the dignitaries and officers of his capital for that occasion. When the prisoners where brought in, they saw that Imam Hussein's head was at the foot of Yazid's throne. Yazid was joyfully reciting some poems in which he openly rejected the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) and called on his ancestors (who were killed by the Muslim army in the battle of Badr) to witness the revenge which he had extracted from the family of the Prophet.
It was under such emotionally charged circumstances that Sayyida Zainab, the courageous daughter of a courageous father, stood up and gave a very moving speech in response to Yazid's statements.

HUSSAINIA New Zealand

She stood and said:

"God says, and He says the truth, the end of miscreants will be awful, those who belied the signs of God and mocked them. Oh Yazid, do you feel that you have made our life miserable and existence impossible? And you think that God has dishonoured us and that you have been honoured and elevated? This apparent success of yours is the result of grandeur of your might and lofty status for which you are proud…. You feel that you have conquered the whole world and your affairs are organised and that our domain is now under you control…

Wait! Wait! Let not your ignorance make you so elated for have you not heard God's words - Let not those who disbelieve think that our giving them respite is good for themselves. We only give respite to them so that they may increase in sins and for them is a disgraceful chastisement. (3:177)

Oh you the son of freed slaves! Is this your justice that the ladies of your house remain veiled and we the Prophet's daughters should be paraded from place to place? You have thus insulted our dignity….

Oh Yazid! Your misdeed has proved your rebellion against God…. And this action of yours comes as no surprise from a person whose ancestors chewed the liver of such saintly martyrs. The descendants of such enemies of God should naturally be the most deadly!

Oh Yazid! You are happily disrespecting the teeth of Husain even though it was the place of kissing for the Holy Prophet!

Oh Yazid! You did what you wished, but remember that you have cut your own skin, In the near future you will be taken in the presence of the Holy Prophet. On that occasion you will be burdened with the sins of the misdeed committed by you shedding the blood of his progeny and dishonouring the sanctity of his family.

Oh Yazid! It does not befit you to get inflated with joy after slaying the Prophet's progeny and reckon not those slain in the way of God to be dead: nay! Alive they are with their Lord, being sustained, rejoicing in what God has granted them" (2:168)

Oh Yazid! Feel not elated with our defeat, for you will have to pay the penalty of it on the day when you will be rewarded for your misdeeds. God is not unjust to anyone. We trust in Him. He is our place of refuge. In Him we seek sanctity and with Him rest our hopes!

You can never reach the level of our lofty position, nor can you destroy our remembrances, nor can you wipe out the ignominy you have earned for yourself by your abominable and vile performance. Your decisions are poor and your days are numbered. Your party will disperse the day when the Announcer will announce - 'GOD'S CURSE BE ON TYRANTS AND TRANSGRESSORS'.
