I think many people don't know the difference between a sunblock and a sunscreen.. therefore, when they get use sunscreen and get a tan, they wonder why it happens..
Sunblock is basically protecting yourself from EVERYTHING- the UVA/UVB rays, tanning, etc etc. Sunscreen only prevents your skin from UVA rays, therefore, letting your skin tan without much harm.
If you want to tan but protect your skin from the rays then you should be using Sunscreen. If you are going for a complete coverage then that's what Sunblocks are for.

So what are some good sunscreen and sunblock products? I feel they are so heavy on my face and make my skin oily-er. I hate the slathered on result and hence I usually am not good about using sunblocks.

I use Neutrogena's sheer sun screen in SPF 60...It's not the best one in the whole wide world but better than others that make my already oily skin all the more oily and greasy...I have heard about sun block gels but i don't know which product line has them? Any idea, girls?

I have been using Neutrogena for the longest time now.. it's such a pain though in winter time.. I have to put on the sunblock and moisturizer seperately.. and then the skin just feels soo heavy.. I think it's better if you get a really good moisturizer with SPF in it.. Philosophy at Sephora has one.. there are a few more.. I am looking for a good one too so that I do not have to use both things seperately anymore.

Wishkamar,
I used neutrogena's gel type.. it was good.. but if you put even a lil extra then it starts peeling off.. and looks very messy.. basically, you can rub it off even.

shiseido makes a sunblock cream with spf 55. it is industrial strength protection but it leaves a white cast on the face making you look like a ghost. other than that it is perfect for those with oily skin because it makes your skin matte and does not budge till you take it off (you need an oil-based cleanser to take it off). however i found it very drying and thats because it contains alchohol. however if u can tolerate it and you dont mind the ghost-face effect then it is perfect since it provides excellent protection.
im looking for a good non-alchohol sunscreen now and the one by jan marini seems plausible. its mad expensive though!"Are you Laiiiiike .....Chaaicking me Aoout?"

I keep on advertising Sunblock 60 by Stiefel since the time I've got to know about it...its the best sunblock I've ever used...and I don't get tanned even in the sunny summers of Lahore...

And U-Veil SPF 60 is a good non-greasy sunblock too...but its not as good as Sunblock 60 according to my experience.
