I've got a HUGE problem. My hair which once used to be my pride and joy, is slowly but surely withering away. There's no beauty left to it anymore. I've lost a lot of hair and at the crown of my head, it just lays there... limp... unmoving. No matter how much I try to pick it up and make it look nice, it just ends up looking very flat. I know i could tease it and whatnot to make it appear fuller and nicer, but thats just gonna damage it more.
Anyone have some tips/nuskhay to get it back to looking nice and purty?

My hair was the same way, it was my pride and joy growing up. But then, I lost some hair a few years ago due to stress and some problems I was going through. My hair went from full and curly to limp, dull and thin. There was no shine and even the curls looked bad (I have curly hair).
I tried a couple of things - Castor Oil and Kali Mehndi. I was on a "hair campaign", lol. I used the oil at night before I went to bed and washed in the morning. I used the Kali Mehndi once a month or so. Now, I actually get compliments on it again.
As for nuskhay, Ive heard of a few:
Almond Oil - this is something my mother uses for her hair and she loves it.
Olive Oil - seems to be another remedy people swear by.
Another tip I heard a couple of years ago was crushing birth control, mixing it in a bottle of shampoo and using that everyday. I was told by a friend when I was complaining about how upset I was with my hair loss. Ive never used it so I wouldnt try it without talking to a doctor first.

Avoid using to many products as they "weigh-down" u're hair, and i've given several home-remedies for flat/limp hair try sum of those? U can give u're hair a final rinse with flat beer (whatever kind) or even chilled mint tea for the extra "lift".

Hi, I am sarah. I just saw this thread. Try Methi Dana and yougurt. Thin the yougurt out with some water and add crushed methi dana to it. Leave it for a day or so. an then apply that to your hair. Your hair will get stronger and longer and it is also very good if for dandruff. I hope this helps.

Ooooooh, speaking of yogurt...I did try yogurt and Amla oil for a while in my hair. But that didnt help me much. It might suit some people but not me.
I swear, olive oil and honey are the best things in the world period! They're good for everything...skin, hair, moisturizer, digestion, etc. I have a big bottle of each in my house at all times...It is amazing how complete is the delusion that beauty is goodness. - Leo Tolstoy, The Kreutzer Sonata

All the above are good ideas.. but for anything to work, it takes time and alot of patience. Many people do them a couple of times hoping for some miracle to happen but it's important that you wait atleast a month and do the routine regularly.

Riya, one of my cousins had beautiful hair, long and lustrous but once she got to high school, she started to perm it, straight/blowdry it, colored it and what not. In a few years her hair was literally like ghaas, dry and so out of life. She stopped doing everything and oiled it regularly, increased her iron and protein intake, and didn't let any chemical touch her hair except shampoo. She even stopped over conditioning it. mA, after 6 months or so, her hair was much more repaired and healthy. You can't do much with the hair you have but you can definitely make the new growing hair much much better.

HOW did you part with the straightener???!!! I would FLIP! My straightener is my prized possession. Although I try not to use it too often but having long silky straight hair is just so tempting...especially with the humidity in Chicago...ick!

I used it for about a year.. and it used to make my hair really silky and nice.. but then I noticed how dry it had become, not to mention the hair fall! And of course I was reading about how damaging it is.. so I was like okay, my head full of healthy hair is more important to me than the silky, thinning kind.. so gave it away. I don't care about my health, skin, anything but hair, I would do anything for it!
I did it once after I got married for a reception but now maybe it's just once or twice a year.

i have curly hair so i try to use straightner not more than twice a month. nowadays i apply olive oil, not too much and mainly to the roots, and then use straightner.

Heated products just ruin u're hair! The entire hair-shaft! And leaves u with very dry/brittle hair.. U shud oil u're hair atleast 3 times a week lol I do it for my fiance too (just hope he doesn't make a habbit out of it!) cuz he falls asleep!
Avoid shampooing u're hair everyday as well.. if u're like me and just don't feel "clean" if u don't shampoo everyday then dilute a pea-size amount of shampoo with oodles of water and rinse u're hair...all you need is trust and a little bit of pixie dust!
