Okay, so I have 2 front open shirt style shalwar kameez, but I have big hips so I feel like this style hasn't really complimented my body type very well. I have this style in a chiffon jamavar material, and one in lawn...so I feel like I can't blame the kapra. What do you guys think? Is this style less flattering for people with bigger hips?

...
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Probably not. BUt if you wear them in darker colors it wont be that bad. HOwever i must say that if someone large size but doesnt have big hips, this style can actually make them look slimmer because it distributes your weight into two.

Jamavar drapes and 'falls' well so it won't look bad.. lawn however clings to all the wrong area's and would be an issue!
..all you need is trust and a little bit of pixie dust!

hmm... too bad i was really liking this style..do you guys think it would be more flattering if another plain shirt was worn underneath and then the jacket kameez on top was only closed from the waist? or would that look weird?

Can someone post a pic of an outfit liek this, I have no idea what it looks like.

^i think closing from the waist will accentuate the hips even more. i think if you want another kameez underneath, then keep the whole coat open from the front. but those styles are usually made with a purposeful gap in the middle and it sounds like the two front portions of your shirts meet in the center?

I haven't made anything new, and i'm not gonna change the 2 shirts i have....am just thinking in the future if i want to get one made how to modify.
I dunno if closing it at the waist would make my hips look bigger, b/c i have a lot of coats where there are belt at the waist and they look good to me
but it will probably look diff with a front open kameez...
for example if i made this kameez

but actually had a shirt underneath, then add 5-6 button below the v, just almost until my hips. hmm iunno if i'm making sense lol

please call me stupid but what front open shirt has to do with hips .. I am trying to visualize the connection but its only making things difficult for me
