I'm very disapionted to note that some of Pakistan's top designers lack perscence on the web. Internet is so powerful, and so common. Just being online, alone can give you so much exposure. Some of our designers don't want commercial image, but having a good website will only help their cause. If our designers don't want a website for themselves, atleast do it for the sake of your country! Pakistan is lagging behind in getting more of online shares dedicated to it's rich culture, and heritage. Even if some of our designers do have a website, most of it never gets updated for a year! And so many website is bogged down with flashy presentations that real content seems very inaccessable for the viewers. won't you agree?

I agree that most of our designers don't update their websites for years. The thing is that most pakistani designers sell to a select group of people. They have clients that buy from them over and over again and I guess they just don't feel that they need to bother with the internet. I think only a couple designers realized the importance of the internet and started selling online like deepak perwani and tazeen hasan.

i agree.. they should have websites .. proper ones that they maintain... our designers are tryin their level best to atleast get a Pakistani Fashion Week... they need to do eveyrthing they can to make the world sit up and notice.. there was a post by some guppie wanting to see creations of Sonia Batla.. i searched everwhere.. no website...

Its definately somethin our designers should look into.. if not to get more customers.... but for international buyers... it should be easy to find you.. no one has the time to sit and go thru diff fashion sites just to see your creation...

One point of view could be, and no offense to any one. How many people in these forums actually buy from any pakistani designers? We all enjoy posting their pictures, then beaming on how we got that style made by our own means and measures. Yes its great to be creative and penny wise, but that is not really why designers publish their work.
So that may be the reason we see more of flash sites where downloading and saving images is harder or not so often updated websites.
I'm not saying that its right that most of them dont have a web presence or others never update it, just that this may be a reason why.

manomano i see your point but all pakistani designers show their designs in pakistani magazines and its much easier to take a picture from a magazine to a karigar and have it copied then to get a pic from the internet.
