When my friend was getting married earlier this year, we went wedding dress shopping. I faked being a bride so I could try on these dresses and I tried one on that looks a lot like this.
Honestly, I felt like a princess the entire time and was truly a blushing bride (sans the husband-to-be of course). We took loads of pics too in the dresses. I think all girls should do this. When you feel like crap, go and try on ball gowns. It's amazingly fun.
Oh, back to the topic, yes, white wedding dresses are truly gorgeous. I want to wear one on my wedding.

Too bland and westernised for my taste.
Why do most Arab and Afghan people I come across wear white at their weddings?
Once when I was a toddler I went to a Yemeni henna party with my mom and the bride was wearing green, looked much nicer than these western white shroud things, you guys should wear Arab clothes more often.

I'm Yemeni and we wear green only on henna but on the wedding we wear white even in rual areas. Zaffa is anything but westernized, its an old Arab tradition. p.s if you were just a toddler how do you know all this?
You guys think these dresses are revealing? Man than you guys have not seen anything

Not 5 fingers are same... First of all not all arabs are Muslims...and not all living in arab world or middle east are native arabs.. These cermonies are much like so called "modern" but not traditionals.. because those who still follow their traditions or socalled are conservatives their ceremonies are very different and they use to wear their traditional "gown" rather these white western bridal gowns .. even in pakistan... some brides (which are not christians) wear white dress on their weddings than tradional red, pink or whatever color shalwar kameez, ghagra, lehnga or saree etc.

Actually every Arab women wears white. Even the ones living in villages. I guess its just the "new thing" these days. But all the rest of the wedding parties like the henna, and others they wear traditonal dresses. My dress is going to be white, but with long sleeves, and eventhough we dress like this at times the men and women are not together.

Well actually this goes back to b4 the Prophet days, when the bride would leave her fathers house they would "zeff" her out, meaning doing that tongue thing, throughing rice, flowers or whatever as she leaves her fathers home. So whenever you go to any Arab celabration and hear that "tongue" thing its a very old tradition.
If you watch the movie on the Prophets live "The message", you can hear the women doing that tongue thing when you arrives back to Madina.
