^ again..we have assimilation in culture.. it boggles me to think why wud we need to introduce new things from other cultures, like a hijaab fashion show! Our deen is perfect as it is! if you like things from other cultures, doesn't that make u look down upon ur own deen?
Allah have mercy on all of us and guide us on the right path, ameen.

Crescent, I don't agree in the least. To see the good in other cultures doesn't belittle one's own culture. If that was the case, no one would move out of predominantly Muslim countries, such as Pakistan.
People would grow and evolve and change. Stagnation would occur.
Allah has created diversity for a reason. Perhaps, He has done so, for us to realize flexibility and tolerance?
Just thoughts.
P.S. Nice pictures, by the way.

Wow what is the big deal? People always seem to complain, these ladies are perfectly covered and still something is wrong.

I don't find anything funny either Tikhi. What was your point? I have seen women in different Islamic magazines advertising for scarves, what's so special or funny as you put it about this particular one??

haya? paakizgi? With tons of makeup on and professional photography?
I just dont see why they need to do cheezy things like this. Every other month they are gonna have half naked women and in the month of ramadan they will have some modest-wanna be model. Makes us look bad.

Are you saying Muslim women who wear a hijab don't wear make up and don't get professional pictures taken?? There are lots of hijabis who model for Muslim magazines and are on Muslim women's magazine covers( http://www.azizahmagazine.com/). So they must be be'haya in your eyes is what you are saying.
yes, point fingers at people when they do something good for a change because you feel Ms. holier than thou???
You making fun of a decently clad woman is very disturbing and more so disturbing when you wear a hijaab yourself.

well that shows atleast they care a teensy bit about their religion if not a whole lot.

oh wow! Where did i say i was better than these women? When did i say they rae behaya? They are def better than half-naked women but their medium is wrong. And Its very disturbing to me that you being a good muslim would be so rude to another muslim sister
And just for the record, even if million women did it, it would still be wrong. Whats the point to hiding beauty when you are gonna put it on display in a stupid fashion mag? I think the whole thing is just ironic!

And chorni, wearing hijab doenst make one more religious or closer to Allah, that's a common misconception ppl have. If i remember correctly, it was a hijabi who went around Pming grlz on GS hoping they get raped
And tikhi yeah you are coming off as judgemental here. You don't think they shud wear makeup and look pretty but you have no problem with them making out in public?

Well it was my first time in this forum and the pics were nice and i too don't see anything funny...i agree with Sara516 and Rukhsarbibi...it's not cheesy at all, they r modelling hijabs for women who wear hijabs...like models who wear shorts, are modelling for those who want to wear shorts...just look at wot they are modelling and forget about judging who they r and wot they shud and shudn't be doing...they are on camera and everyone wants to look nice when they r being photographed, so that's y they r wearing makeup.

Depends, I suppose, on why you wear hijab.
If it is to hide beauty, then I suppose the make-up, etc, is not compatible.
But for many women, hiding beauty isn't the goal. It is to show that they are Muslim women. If that is the case, there's nothing wrong with wearing make-up and modeling the hijabs for other women.
I personally don't see anything wrong with wanting to look nice and taking an interest in your appearance.
