What type of lengha is in fashion in Pakistan these days? Is the mermaid style still hot? I checked out Visage and it doesn't look like the site has been updated in a while.
Any recommendations on sharara/gharara styles would be appreciated.

My sister's wedding.
I got a lengha and I absolutely love it. Now, I just need to figure out how to wear the dupatta cause it's quite huge.
I also will be wearing heels cause it's quite long from the front, I just hope I don't trip up.

I want to see a pic!
Put the dupatta down one side and then across the back and over the other arm. Pin it in a couple places. That will look nice.

What the woman did in the store was tuck one end into the skirt part and then drape it over the opposite shoulder from the back so that it hung down the front. I really don't like that style cause it just looked really poofy from behind.
I guess I need to see pics of designs Sahar cause I can't imagine what you are describing.
I'll show you pictures in March, after the wedding.

Oh wow Mehnaz, your sister is getting married!! Congratulations :-)
My sister designed a fishtail lehnga for herself to wear on my mehndi. If you ask me, anything goes. I personally love gharara's.
Mermaid and fishtail are still 'in' in Pakistan. I even saw the bridal versions while was shopping in Lhr.
Oh and Sahar descirbed a good dupatta style, I always take mine like that aswell.

^ No, fishtail is the kind where there is actually a slight train. Mermaid has the flared shape. They often look similar, tho.

^ Probably. Same issue with furshi ghararas. But I suppose we're willing to deal with it in the name of fashion

mermaid will probably only look good if someone has small hips, since it is fitted in that area. the fishtail looks good too....you can decide how long or short you want the train to be

Hmmm, can someone (Sahar) upload a pic of the dupatta style? I tried it last night and wasn't getting it right, cause it looked pretty silly on me.
Acha, I will be dancing it seems at some point in the evening so I need it stylishly put on, but not in the way. The dupatta is quite massive, net, with heavy embroidery along the sides. I think it will be a bit boring if I simply pin it to the side, lekin, if I have no other choice, that is what I will end up doing.

Sort of like these. Over the shoulder on one arm, and pinned around the wrist on the other arm.

u know what, everything seems to be in... when i was getting ready (on both the barat and walima days) i saw girls wearing all types of wedding dresses and all different colours... go for what YOU want to wear... dont worry too much about whats in and whats not, at the end of the day, you'll look superb in what you like
