rimsh: black saris with silver work is pretty standard and it shouldnt be hard to find at any shop that sells a large variety of fancy saris. i got mine from jackson heights in new york. its not heavily embellished but just right for someone else's wedding.

Black's my favorite color and I hate that I can't wear it to most functions. It's such as awesome shade of color for shararas, salwars and basically any kind of clothing.

I got a balck sari and it has a tea pink and turqoise color embroidery and tea pink blouse, since these shades are really in these days i got it from pak when i went 6 months back. Its really beautiful i wish i could post the pictures.
I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth.

I like the colours and work on the first outfit, but I dont like saris for some reason; think they dont suit paki culture and tastes. Also people might mistake you for someone from calcutta(black hole on earth) nice colours anyhow

mehnaz: did u wear it to a close relative's wedding? do u think saris look out of place for the wedding of my dad's cousin's daughter?
Reminder, be nice to sara516 until the weddings are over
amelie: i love banarsi saris in black and gold! its classic.

I wore it to a friend's wedding. We were not super close ... but hey, there were other girls there in their wedding outfits (like five other girls in their dhulan outfits since they were new brides) so I didn't feel odd at all.
At my sister's wedding, a girl wore a black saree too. Everybody liked it. She looked quite elegant.
