does anyone know what this thing (the long hair accessories that women had in her hair) called. I know its not paranda.
maduhari was weraing it on this year filmfare awards (there is a pic but i don't think u guys can see it)in her performance and aishwarya had it in the movie "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" Nimboda song.
If anyone knows plz tell me know my sis is eating my head.
Thanks in advance

Those are a type of paranda that you overlay on top of the braid. I have a version of those that I got from Pakistan.

It is called a "Jadai Nagam". It is different from the Punjabi Pa***** in that it is made from thin gold pieces hinged together.
A woman's long, black hair plait is said to have inspired a Tamil goldsmith to craft the jadai-nagam, the cobra-shaped ornament worn over a long plait.
It has become traditional for brides and also dancers to use these in thier long plaited hair. Different regions in India now have thier own versions and it is a ethnic fashion statement rather than just traditional style jewellery.

You can go to any accessories stand, or churiyan stand, and they would probably have it there.
