So my sis just came back from PK with a new concept....That mehndi is tandi (cold) so it is better for u to use and oil with coconut is garam (hot or warm) so it is not good if u have oily skin....cuz it will make ur hair fall out. Now the oil that I use is called vatika....with oil, mehndi and coconut in it. Anyone ever use it??? Anyone else heard of this concept??? What oil is good for ur hair if u want it to grow longer and keep it from falling out?

I have used that oil and i wasnt too impressed with it. I have terribly oily skin and somewhat oily scalp with dandruff. And my horrible, dead hair loves plain coconut oil. I am back to the basics now instead of the Vatika stuff.

Pyaari, yep i used the good, ol' Parachute. My hair used to fall out so much, it was drivng me nuts. So i started getting regular trims, as well as started taking vitamins B and C. I think that has helped a lot, Alhamdulillah. I can notice the difference. Also, without any oiling the hair were dry and brittle and just looked blah. Now i apply oil and keep for a few hours about 2-3 times a week and its working wonders.
Just a sidenote that if your hair is falling out, it could be due to a variety of reasons.
lack of iron
dandruff
your diet may be lacking (honestly my diet sucked and hence the vits helped i think)
use of too many hair products perhaps
So you may want to zero in on what your issue is and then resolve it.

i used to actually put on coconut oil - but suddenly when i washed my hair it started falling out, so i never used it again - apparently its supposted to be hot/warm (whatever u want to call it) for the scalp - use another oil like castor oil or something- don't put too much on and leave in for a couple of hours and then wash....
with mehndi - ive heard its good due to its conditioning elements - but again changes your hair colour and it actually lightens with every wash - so its up to you...
im more of a fan for shampoo, and condition and then maybe put in a heat protective spray if you are blow drying, but remember hair is best kept when clean
