I have a question about mammograms in general. If someone gets one done and the results show a spot on the mammogram is that something to worry about? I know that sometimes the doctors assign a number to the seriousness of the spot (and then they recommend another test to clarify things) but the person that has gotten the mammogram does not know what number was assigned to their result. I was just wondering whether the spot showing up is something to REALLY worry about? how worried should that make you?

Obviously, the person in question has another appointment scheduled for a test that will clarify things much more but in the meantime...is it something to worry about?

The number is assigned to determine te location.. 6= 6 o'clock position, etc...
Don't worry about it, sometimes they have to retest to be completely sure... the person in question isnt going for a biopsy.... right?
