I had a HSG (also known as HyCoSy) in January 2005, shukr, the results came back clear
I felt it really hurt but that was because although in the appointment letter it said to take strong painkillers at leat 30 minutes before, I only took 2 paracetamol 20 minutes before!!!!- and afterwards the pain was so unbearable, but immediately eliminated by about 75% simply by going to the toilet!!!! (To get rid of the saline)
Felt sore/battered and bruised for the rest of the day, but nothing longlasting!
(Apart from heavy bleeding for about 3 days)
Hope this helps - PM me if you want to discuss it anymore

An HSG is where they pass a specially dyed saline solution through the female reproductive system to check for any blockages/anything abnormal. The saline is passed through at the same time as a ultrasound scan is being taken to see the saline passing through

hmm my ignorance, but how can the tubes be tested if the dye doesn't get into the tubes.. I mean from what I have read the dye is injected and then an X-Ray of tubes is carried out...

The HSG tests to see if there is any reason why fluid can not go into the tubes..by injecting the dye...and takin an xray they see if there is something stoping the fluid going in....they don't know what it is...just know it's not going inito the tubes by the results of the exra (fluid up t the ovaries or not)
To be frank- it's just like semen would go up...and should go up the tubes to your ovaries..the fluid is essentially doing the same.
