Ok this is gonna sound retarded but exactly one week ago I lost my contact lens solution, and I didnt have time to go buy more, so I put my contacts in plain water so that tehy wouldnt dry up and crack..thinking that i would get some more later that day. Well i completely forgot and remembered them today when i finally found my solution... is it safe to wear them now... even after a week in just water and no solution? I really need to wear them tonight!!

they usually go hard in water, ive tried 'em.
But really depends upon the chemicals in your tap water.
Id not put 'em in your eyes.

i actually did that a few nights back.
my solution had finished and i didn't know what the heck to do.
so i put water into my case and put my lens in for the night. the next day i took 'em out and put them in..and they sorta stuck right to my eyes. felt weird. tried taking them out..and it was like there was no air in between my eye and the lens.
anywho..took it out, and squeezed my solution bottle, and out came a few drops which i used to lubricate the lens. and tada! worked okay for me
wouldn't suggest doing it again though

Once my lenses actually got dried up...as the case wasn't properly closed, so the solution leaked out...and the lenses were hard when I saw them...but I put them in the solution again, and they became fine!
Try keeping them in the solution for some hours before using them again...and as somebody said already...no risks should be taken about such affairs...
Good luck!

oh MY GOD u loT NEED some SERIOUS help!
U R NEVER EVER SUPPOSE TO PUT UR LENSES IN water or water with salt THATS just wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!
u should always use saline solution.
if u r following all these stupid method i suggest you should STOP rt now!
OR u'll eventually loose ur eye sight BCZ a little crack in ur cornea seems as if its some rash and u think to ur self ok it'll go away and after few days of baring the same pain u kinda forget it but wats actually happening is that ur that little rash is bcz ur cornea is inflammed bcz u used tap water WHICH is NOT purely senitised and has some bacteria in it. and after few weeks that infection reachs back of ur eye and it works its way up via optic nerve in ur brain and then u r TOTALLY messed UP
believe me i'm a medical student and i just recently studied in the wards where i saw atleast ten people with the SAME issue and THEY wish NOW THAT they shouldnt have done it bcz u r not just loosing ur sight with time it is gradually becoming more painful to cope with.

no offence prototype but lens solution is SALINE solution which is purified and had no BACTERIA it but the water u'll get from tap is not nessacrily pure so u cant mix water and salt together and assumed THATS it this is ma home made EYE solution i think if it was that easy WHY on earth SALINE solution would be in SO demand as it is now
