Oh god first the confusion over Ghararas and Shararas and now this
Paishwaz and Empire line waist are two totally different outfits altogether.
Paishwaaz
Imagine a frock, the top of it is a very fitted corset, attached right below the waist to the frock with heaps of gher.
Examples Rekha in SalameIshq meri jaan
Rani in Tumhari adaaon pay main wari wari
Madhuri in Yeh kis ki aahat
Empire Line waist i
Frock, where the top part is fitted with the bottom right under the chest.
There is no fitting. Looks ridiculous on flat chested women.
The breasts have to be very big to carry out this dress otherwise you'll jsut end up looking pregnant.
Anarkali dresses arent either Empire line waist as shown in the pics or Paishwaaz.
Anarkali dresses
Always has churidar with 'em.
Top is straight not corset, is not fitted, can be loose, usually made out of organza material fitted to the frock at the waist.
Doesnt need to be fitted.
Some anarkalis have coats some dont.
The frock of the anarkali dress doesnt have much gher, it can be A-line

i thought paishwaz was the one that was a fitted a the top, a-line at the bottom, wrap- style kameez with a churidaar and a massive long dupatta?
its hyderabadi traditionally? oh wait, no, im thinking angarkha. nevermind :P

with these empire waists i think A-line ghers look good cos they don;t make u look like ur expecting. The gher with three kaliyan to it goes best under the empire waisted top for me.

If I could have it in different colors, they would be black, navy blue or electric blue, shocking pink, and bottle green. It will look hot in all these colors :drooling:

there was one in dark purple that i was interested in and the work on it was heavier than the one bipasha has on and the lady quoted it $245. I also saw some with work on just the top and the rest plain for less than $100.

definitely not karishma. their prices begin at 300. you could check out stores that are on corners or where you have to walk downstairs to a basement. there they are more willing to give you a good price. i bought a suit from one last night and i will pm you the name tonight when i get home.

I love Karishma! Almost all my clothes are from there and Lavanya which apparently is some sort of a 'sister' branch of it. Anything I want, they get it made for me. Pricey but I couldn't find my kind of sarees, lehngas and shalwar kamizs from anywhere but them. It would be really nice if you can tell me about the other places too cuz I just stopped touring j/h once I found those two stores.

well i went home to look for the bag in which i bought the outfit in and i couldnt find it. but what i can tell you is that once you step out of karishma and turn right walking past shireen mahal and cross the street the shop is right there by the corner.
also there's a couple of hidden shops next to the meat shop. (once you take a left from sona music you'll find this meat shop) From the outside you can see a video cassette store and you have to enter it to find those other boutiques. their clothes are much closer to pakistani boutique wear. very different from what is sold at karishma etc.

Hi shweetz does karshima and lavanya boutique have a website?
btw i lurvvveeee these anarakali dress so different then those plain shalwar kameezes...infact i saw a girl wearing 1 in black she was a bit on the chubby side not to fat and it looked really nice on her! i think anarkali dress fits well to all shapes as its wide and loose with a tight churidar..so it hides the big bottom and flubbies jheheheh...keep posting more picsture of them !
i so wanna get made 1 ,,,dont live in pakistan and no asian boutiques here ,,,u guys r lucky to be in the us or ca. to get ideas........so internet is my only source !

My valima clothes were a variation on this (please don't quote or save)
This is not a peshwaz, but an angharka (less frocklike, and wrapped and tied)
*poof*
If you want another image of these, feel free to save this:
