Just wanted to get some idea of taste of guppies on this site
Don't know if this is the right forum but since I don't post in Life that much, this is the right one now
So what kinda taste do you have when it comes to decorating your house with furniture? Are you into giving your house a comtemporary look or something else?
Personally, I can't stand comtemporary furniture and looks. It seems as if it has no character in it and everything has the same shape & design . I am more into the classic look like the one in the following picture:

you ve been reading my mind you HHL!!! .. i was gona ask the same thing ....in about a few hours time ..like when all the main flooders of GS come on .. but since you ve posted it ........... you can have the credit
personally i love classical .... cos theres so much life in a room filled with things where as contempory .. the rooms are empty and its like one sofa set and a table and a flower pot and the rest of the room is empty .. dead .......walls are plain no nothing on em .. and if there are any pictures or something .. its pictures of things which dont even make sense ..... so personally its definately classic.......... cos old is gold ...

My thoughts exactly, LOVE classic. It has so much character in it and as weird as it may sound coming from a guy lol, I just love to mix & match. Sometimes adding different colors really brings out the room. Like for example, I love the combination of Maroon and Gold (like you see in the pic). They go together like breads and eggs . Having some furniture of 1 color, and the other ( in the same room) of different color really looks awesome.
Contemporary/Modern just seems plain no matter how many colors you mix and match.

bruv thas how exactly how i see it ... we adorn our selves with so many colours and fashion clothing but with our homes these days .. they dont even look like homes cos .. theres hardly any life to the house .........i mean i went to this new home someone bought and they did it all up and then they called my father for a Dua for all the Goodness and happy life in that house ....my father went and i tagged along .... what i saw when i got there ..that the walls of the whole house .. i mean every room is light blue painted .... and in the guest room ... theres just three sofas there and a table and shukar hai they had blinds to the window ....... man i was like ... ewwww they spent so much money on this and all they come out is with this ......... the whole house was just plain simple ...... i d rather live in a prisson cell cos thas how it looked ......
and yea definately mix and match is really important to bring life .... and well its kinda like tea bags and water and if there isnt either of something then it aint tea .....
well i personally love the colour ... hazel brown shining orange mixed .. a bit like when Autumn comes ......... its so cool .....

it's the heart afraid of dying, that never learns to dance; It's the dream afraid of waking, that never takes the chance; It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give; And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live.

Sabriyah ..MashaAllah ....... you also have agood choice ........spanish style is just sooo amazing that ..its got the classic touch but at the same time its got the contempry touch to it slightly .. which makes things more liven up ....... that way your not stuck in just one era .. your living in two eras at one time ..........
InshaAllah one day .. just one day ............May Allah accept your Duas ....
ps. i personally like that last pic ... its just feels like home already .. although i too just like you wish .. that i cud have ahome like this

^ The 3rd pic from bottom is not too bad
But overall, I have seen some good combos of different contemporary but they still lack some character in them, in my opinion (others are welcome to disagree). No matter how many different colors you combine, all (or most) of the them still have similar rectangular shapes which make the room look plain & empty.

thats what accessories are for! the sofa's have clean straight lines and then you play around with the surrounding bits and voila! lovely room!
