Isn't it haraam in islam to get a tattoo. The reason why this question came to my mind is that when i saw the song YEH GHAR AAAP KA HUA by reema i saw her ankle and said to myself that is that mehendi or is it a TATTOO.

yep, it's true- tattoos are a big no-no in Islam.
"Tattooing is not permissible in Islam. Imam Bukhari (RA) has recorded a
Hadith in his Sahih on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar
(Radhiallaahu Anhu) that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) cursed the
tattooist and the one who gets himself tattooed."

i heard when u have a tattoo, wudhu nahi hota, just like having nail polish on... so if wuzu nahi hota, then u can't pray and if u cant pray.... well thats no good.....
so i guess some things may seem very very minor in the grand scheme of things but if you take it all seriously, and realize the larger consequences of it..even those small things (like nail polish and tattoos) will matter!

it depends on the kind of tattoo your are getting
if you are getting tattoo the bubble gum one or henna one then they are not (make sure its not showing X-rated or haram images )
but if they are made using electrical machine then actually you are harming your body because the design is soldered (that is why ppl say wow! who get tattoo, cuz its really painful)
