Is using a scrubber or exfoliator on your face everyday bad for your skin? For some reason, I just dont get that clean feeling until I use an exfoliator.

oh my god, it is really bad for your skin! especially if your skin is sensitive. apricot scrub used to be my best friend at one point until my dermatologist smacked me and said, are you crazy!!??? she said exfoliation is good but OVER exfoliation will kill your skin. basically, she suggested scrubbing only once a week with a good scrub. for a normal day basis, she told me to use any good cleanser with salicylic acid which is a 'silent' exfoliater that gets rid of all the dead cells without your face being scrubbed.

Damn. Yeah St. Ive's apricot scrub is my bestest friend in the whole world. We've been together day and night for the past three or four months already. Exactly how is it bad, like what's gonna happen to my skin? And my skin is really sensitive too

Which cleanser do you use now? And does it make your skin feel clean and nice? For some reason I just dont like to use those cream cleansers, they dont have the same effect as scrubbers/exfoliators.

I use St.Ives and i have had no probs...although i am doing circular movements on my face with the scrub for a long time! To me it seems fine and then i use Oil of Olay moisturizer afterwards.

Now Scoot!

Since I have sensitive skin that dries out even faster during winter time, I have limited usage of scrub now. but I still make it a point to exfoliate once a week. I use Murad clarifying cleanser which cleans my skin soooooooooo awesomely well. It's known to clean all the bacteria uptio 99.9% within a minute. I hate breakouts and this cleanser has done wonders. I get it at Sephora as I don't know of any other place to buy it from. It's a lil costly but worth it. Oh and it also has the salicylic acid so it exfoliates the dead skin cells daily without any scrubbing needed. Then on the weekend, I lightly scrub my face with St. Ives Apricot scrub. I moisturize with a shea butter moisturizer (again, you can find a good one at Sephora) and that's basically all Like I said, my skin is super duper sensitive so I have to be exceptionally careful with what I use. Sometimes when I am buying makeup at Sephora (you can tell I am obsessed with the store) the associate there sometimes try it on my face and believe me, my face breaks out into rashes like instantly. That's how crazy my skin is.

Shay, i have looked into this product and has got good reviews, but how long have you been using it for? Did you notice any diff in the beginning? I have got blemishes, will it get rid of it?

I started using it in February of last year. I must have used atleast 20 cleansers in the last 2 years, I kid you not. My bathroom had this collection of face washes that used to piss my mom off so much. So finally I decided it was time for THE one. I didn't buy it until I read a thousand reviews. I didn't have acne but I used to get breakouts alot due to sensitive skin and I wanted something that would clean my skin thoroughly as well as lighten blemishes/breakouts, etc. This one did all of that! You can feel your skin being clean once you wash your face, it's that good. Almost a year has passed and it's still working great You can read it more about it on Sephora's website or get a sample from them. Hopefully, it should help you!

Also, you might have to wait a couple of weeks before you see any changes.
