I have noticed something with my cousin that is really bothering me- she is losing hair at the front right above her forehead but what's worrying me even more is that it's more on her left side than the right. She is only 19 so I want to help her incase it gets worse as she gets older. She used to straighten her hair but then stopped a long time ago so I don't think that could be the reason.. or maybe it is? She wears headbands alot and she has stopped doing that because it could be pulling back the hair? She oils her hair regularly, has a good diet, etc etc. Anyone know anything about this?

it could be the hairband...i see these puerto rican girls that pull their hair back so tightly and they start losing their hair from the front and get these huge foreheads. tell her to wear her hair not too tight, take b-vitamins and use castor oil on the balding spots. hope that helps!
unless its just genetic?

Could be genetic factors. Has anyone else in her family experienced hair loss at a young age?

Could be excess stress.

Could also be hormonal. Losing hair preferentially at the forehead and temples --- in women it can be due to excess testosterone. Not to freak her out or anything, but I suggest that she ask a doctor.
