i have had this problem for a long time now (5 years) maybe that's when i became aware that it's a problem or i might of had even before.

one side of my nose is always blocked, when i sleep on one side (right side), the same side will be blocked..

i do have allergies but i don't they can cause my nose to be congested all year long

i have gone for an x-ray and waiting for the results

wanted to know if anyone here experienced this? or any docs in the house?

could be the nose "bone"'s bent, or could be allergies.

Used to happen to me. I have a deviated septum, very common, and my ENT specialist said that while surgery is recommended, it may not solve the problem a 100%. What happens is that any exposure to the cold virus or any bacterial infection can cause upper respiratory trouble, and for someone who has a sensitive immune system or problems such as deviated septums, or is allergy prone, you could end up in a sinus infection which causes the congestion you may be experiencing.

Good you had an x-ray done. Meet up with your ENT specialist. They will prescribe nasal sprays/saline water and/or an antibiotic. Take vitamins to boost your immunity and cover your nose/mouth in the cold air. Before you sleep, flush your nose with some saline water (Ocean spray). Really helps.

yup. that's the nose bone which is really cartilage. i couldn't remember the name. usually corrected by surgeries.

for the allergies you could be allergic to dirt. are you taking any anti-allergy medication?

my bro had the same problem, and part of it is his deviated septum, but it's also cuz of the dust allergies he has. his nose wasn't blocked anymore while he was on anti-allergy medication. maybe that will work for you as well.

all in all hope it ends soon

That is why saline water is the best.

no the doc said he's too young to get a surgery like this right now since he's growing and all still. and since the medication helped (he was using allegra i think) it wasn't needed anymore. he didn't like the nasal sprays much either and they didn't really work for him

Bored

Naak katwado sub theek ho ja a ga.
Meaning the surgery might help. But try taking Claritin for a month every night. I do at doctors advice and have been taking it for years. That helps a lot. A few more tips that help me.
1. Avoid drinking very cold beverages including water at least 4 hours before going to bed.
2. Avoid eating very cold or frozen deserts or foods at least 4 hours before going to bed.
3. Clean your nose ( in the bath room of course not in public, just kidding) immediately before going to bed .
4. Make sure you cover your head, while in the bed, with some kind of topi , chader , bed sheet the objective is to not let the head get cold/cool during sleep.

If all this does not work then take two aspirin and then call me in the morning.

I am a man with a plan. A plan to live a simple , fulfilling life.

I had a deviated septum since birth, but had it fixed through surgery about four years ago. I went under surgery with general anesthesia, so I don't remember the actual procedure, but recovery was not so bad. A week post-op, I could breath better than ever. The surgery has totally fixed my breathing problem, but it does not work that way for everyone. See your ENT, and he/she might be able to tell you whether septoplasty would solve your problem.

k I somehow missed the cyst part ... your surgeon is probably going to drain it? a friend of mine had it on the eyelid, and hers was removed using local anesthesia.
