Around two weeks back while using my laptop I got the nerves of my hand damaged. I was holding the laptop with one hand under it when I felt that my hand was numb( you know like when any of your body part sleeps). I rubbed my hand try to get it back to normal but it didn't. It's been more than two weeks now and it's still the same. Doc said some of my nerves were damaged due to the heat and it may take a while ( a month or so) to heal.

I read some time ago that male fertility can be effected by the use of laptop as it can damage the sperms. I didn't understand the seriousness of the statement until two weeks back!! So people, specially guys, better be careful with the laptops.....

That is serious stuff Masi .. How long did you hold it for .. and iwas that a usual practice of yours or it was the first time you've done that

I wonder if PC tablets emit the same amount of heat , cause they are meant to be held with one hand while you are writing with the other

Thanks shay

Well TK it was for maybe 15 mins or so.. I have dell which heats up more than a usual laptop.. It has been acting up lately, warms up a lot and shuts down. I had kept my hand under the laptop to lift it a lil' bit so that the fan can work properly and it won't shut down.. The machine did'nt shut down but my hand did ..

btw does anyone know what kind of specialist can I visit fro this problem? I have been to a GP and was told that nothing can be done, it will take its course of time plus she advised me to take multi-vitamins which I am already taking. I was quite patient but running out of it now plus it hurts a little bit too...

If its anything like carpal tunnel syndrome where the nerves of the wrist are damaged there are exercises. You should google that up.
