it's really hard to choose one over another...of course most might prefer diamond b/c it's more expensive than gold or silver, but all have their own beauty...

personally i don't really like wearing a lot of jewellary and i told my parents not to give me too much on my wedding...

I refuse to purchase diamonds because there is no way to guarantee that they aren't blood diamonds.

Your diamonds could be the source of 1000's of children having their hands cut off. I simply cannot support it.

plus, diamonds aren't even rare; their circulation in the markets are just highly regulated by huge diamond cartels.

Would love to have Diamond but I can't buy cause don't want to be fooled.

lolll, you are so funny, i'm not talking about fake diamonds. a real diamond isn't a semi-precious gem. rubies, sapphires, and emeralds are. diamonds are mined by the tons in the past century, but their distribution is highly controlled, so their prices are inflated. ever try to resell a diamond?
go tiffanys and get a nice diamond princess cut ring for say $10,000, put your credit card down as a deposit, and say you want to just try it on and see if you like it. then go immediately to a diamond reseller and see if you can get $3,000 for it. you can't. you can try to convince another tiffanys to buy it, but that won't work either, because they won't buy back their diamonds, their offer would be considered ridiculously low.
buy hey if you like 'em, buy 'em! unlike some people, i don't have a huge moral distaste toward diamonds in that i refused the jewelry my inlaws gave me because it had diamonds (though if i was a better person, i would, children are killed in africa daily in order to finance the blood diamond trade), but i wouldn't purchase one myself or ask my husband to do so.

i like wearing gold more than silver..but i have silver too..in fact someone told me that Ahmedabad(Rajasthan,India) is famous for this silver thingys...so when i went there for my wedding shopping...i did buy one silver set for me and one silver pazaaib...and i still have it..love wearing it at times...so far as gold is concerned...one of my relatives always says its sort of ur saving...ofcourse no one wants to sale it...but i tell u...after my engagement ....i had much salamees....my mother advised me to buy some gold thing ...that way it wud be memorable for u...i went to panorama,Lahore...and bought one locket set ...that had white gold and yellow gold...when i started to wear it..it was giving me much pain at the back of my ears...i went there back and told him...at that time i bought it for Rs.14,000 ...he himself was giving me 11,000 back..since i used it ...anyhow i came back to saudi and here they are giving me Rs.25,000 ..and i didnt sell...i still have it just to commemorate!..don't wear..it hurts!

so far as diamonds r concerned...compared to gold..they dont have any resale..they always depreciate(Spelling?) ..but sometimes having diamonds is just ok...my wedding ring was of diamond!
