Actually pores dont open and close as it is generally believed.
They look big due to dead skin trapped within 'em.
The best way is to exfoliate weekly with a gentle scrub and drink enough water to flush out toxins.

Pores, if "iced" regulary do shrink in size =) tomato juice is also recommended to tighten enlarged pores.

A recipe from Rima Soni, to remedy open pores. I haven't tried it as yet, but hope it works out for you! =)
Recipe: Blend 1 tsp. Tomato juice, with 2 drops of lime juice and ¼ tsp. Honey. Leave this on your skin for 20 minutes every alternate day. Rinse off with cold water.

hey girls!
2gud2btrue- the honey i use is 'natural honey' dont no if that helps...the one u put on toast!
desigirl- the guy said to do it every 3days if u have dry skin so im guessing 2 weeks for combo skin, he did say dont do it too much as honey is a antiseptic & can damage the skin if used too frequently
marwa- its upto u...according to the guy, he simply sed put the mixture on the face, scrub for a minute then remove it using lukewarm water....and then splash with cold water to close up the pores...
hope this helps..im really no expert just forwarding on what i was told...be careful & dont do it too much xx

This is the scrub I use:
Mario Badescu's Strawberry face Scrub, made with real Strawberry seeds: Gently buffs away flaky skin while natural AHA’s breakdown dull build-up to unclog pores. It improves overall texture to the skin by revealing healthy, glowing skin while preventing blackheads.
