A friend was asking about her skin recently become dull and pale. I asked her to exfoliate a couple of times a week. Other than that, are there any other treatments?
She's in her mid thirties. Just had a baby.

When you reach your mid thirties (and before), your cell turnover slows down. Exfoliation is great for the skin. She shouldn't use any abrasive products though. Use something gentle and mild. Have her stimulate her skin by tapping her fingers all over her face gently at least once a day. This will help increase the cell turnover (where dead cells are shed and new cells come to the surface).
She needs a lot hydration for her skin, and needs to drink plenty of water. Sometimes during and post pregnancy your hormones are out of wack and these can manifest in different ways on the face. If her skin was better before the pregnancy it'll likely return to normal. Make sure she gets all her vitamins (pre natal vitamins or childrens multi vitamins are best).
I'm an esthetician (skin care specialist), and I learned facial massages that stimulate cell turnover and perk up dull skin. Urge her to see an esthetician and start a professional facial regiment. They're wonderful for the skin.

Firstly she shud rule-out anaemia! Then she shud exfoliate 3 times a week with a gentle scrub and massage any face-cream that contains Vitamin E. Drink plenty of water and have foods rich in iron, maybe even take a multi-vit everyday? Massaging the skin will increae blood-circulation..
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

Because of acidic qualities. They're low level peels.

Depends what is causing the dullness.
Considering she's just had a baby and her age, I say she's lacking Vit B
Drinking heaps of water will only flush out toxins, other than that absolutely nothing for the dullness.

U're welcome =) I do blv she has low haemoglobin as well.. do ask her to take milk as calcium helps in iron absorption. Perhaps she shud ask her doc and take iron supplements. Honey, taken orally is great as well..

Gina, After seeing so many good answers from you about skin... I would like to ask you a question too.
I had a baby 8 months ago. During pregnancy my skin became very uneven toned, my neck underarms all turned black.... now its has been 8 months and some of this darkness has gone away.... but is there something i can do to speed up the process to get a even toned skin? My face is not that bad but neck from the back and sides is dark
I do have a sensitive face skin, cant use much stuff on it, its combination skin and acne prone.... but i am sure i can use something on neck.... I did use Avon's alpha hydroxy pads cuple of months ago on my neck which decreased a lot of darkness but some is still there.... any tips?
Thanks,
Sanna

Carp it's prolly the "mask of pregnancy" or melasma =) you shud use eldopaque forte every alternate night to the effected area's. You can even use traces of HQ.. home remedies do work but they take ages!

Skin-lightening cream.. for uneven skin during/after pregnancy. Please don't use it for uneven skin.. if it's not melasma

I have sensitive skin too...the only thing that has worked for me so far is extra virgin olive oil. Wierd, I know but it works!
I put a lot of it on before I go to bed and then wash it off in the morning. It helps with acne, scarring, irritation (my skin gets irritated very easily) etc.
