Just wondering if anyone has looked through the latest online issue of dailytimes fashion magazine. There's a section showing models wearing their dresses to some mysterious awards thing. Many of them are in dresses that are way too revealing, like tube top dresses, bizarre. Anyways I was shocked enough by that, then I clicked the next page and there's Gia with a crewcut. What's up with that? Is it a political statement, for a movie role, I'm confused. It looks like crap. Not that she was fabulous to start with.

According to the article in dailytimes, she had shaved all her hair off just a month before.. and the 'crew cut' is basically her hair growing back. I don't like Gia Ali at all, she has a pretty face but because of how she talks and carries herself (in the worst possible way), and the kind of people she hangs out with (sheikh ameer and begum nawazish), she makes me cringe.. no class, no style whatsoever.
Except Iman and Vinnie, none of those models/actresses could pull off the gowns at LSA. And the worst was Fayeza Ansari's dress.. I wonder if these girls even bother to check the mirror to see how they look.

pakistani celebs have been wearing revealing clothes since forever...nothing new.
these designer dresses (exception of nadia hussain) are such a disappointment. i dont know...cant pinpoint if its the fit or the way the cloth falls thats bothering me. coming from designers i think its sad when pakistan clothing industry is so big.
the makeup ofcourse is soo airbrushed and stunning. I think they all use the same color foundation on all cthe models/celebs? lol. they all have the same finish/color of skin. but yeah they all look good from the neck up.
nadia hussain looks stunning. she's a goddess. her and mehreen syed are godesses! i find them both gorgeous.

Daily Times - Sunday
the girl on the left is soooo elegant! love her outfit.
oh and i also like nilofer shahid's outfit!
Daily Times - Sunday
some of them look so uncomfortable in their outfits- why force it if you can't work it? wear a glam sari instead so you're at least familiar with it and can carry it off- but then its only half the issue; the other half is that their clothes are lame. i don't like when pakistani designers veer from what they do best (i.e. pakistani clothes) and try and create western wear.... either you know what you're doing, or you don't. there's no secret formula for making a gown- you have to have the eye for shape, drape, and cut.
some of them can, which is awesome. the ones who can't should recognise their weakness and stay away from it.

I think Sana Safinaz did a great job...too bad Maria Wasti does look a little uncomfortable. Her hair and make-up go with the look. Also, feathers were huge at New York Fashion week so it's good that they are keeping up with Int'l trends.

Yeah, Nilofer is the best dressed. In her own design! I absolutely hate the revealing dresses. They look so backwards and desperate. They probably think they're so stylish and 'modern'. Right!

Theyre trying to be too westernised, looks like a Hollywood awards ceremony. Dont understand whats wrong with being all desi-fied. The ones wearing saris look stunning, the others just look, uncomfortable and out of place. And the pink suit?! Ouch.
