so recently ive noticed my lips have started become really dark.... and i dont wear really dark lipstick at all. My spa lady also told me to stop using the brand chapstick cause its really bad for you so i stopped doing that too. but not my lips are peeling like crazy. I'm not sure if my lips are getting darker because of that or what... but they are starting to look like smokers lips Are there any products out there for this... or even any home remedies to make my lips more pink and healthy? ive looked at tons of stores and didnt come across anything.... HELP!!!

Where r u? In boots (uk) they sell a range of stuff for sensitive skin without alot of rubbish added. I think its skin expert. They have a little tube of lip cream that moisturises, try that.

I assume u don't smoke? Bcos that can make lips blak. It may be the cold weather.

Keep moisturised and then apply vaseline on top of your lip moisturiser to lock it in.

Veggedout

You need to grab an old toothbrush (your own) wet it, apply some vaseline on your lips leave it on for 2-3 minutes and then brush your lips gently. Exfoliate basically. I saw this on oprah and its always recommended in magazines.

You also might be dehydrated so drink more water.

the same thing happened to me along with a great amount of inflammation
the lips would sometimes look "bluish" too...its gotten better..thnk God

it has left pigmentation around my upper lip area...the area is forever darker now. i wish i could even out with my skin tone =\ its as if that area is part of my lips :s

^this happened while i was visiting pakistan. the doctor first gave me some stuff for a possible allergy and later hyper pigmentation. it was topical medicines which did help, i had to go back more than once though, because it would go away for a week/ the color and everything would be back and then it would change again=\ the skin right above it also got a bit looser
and it is fine now except the coloring. :S

thanks for the suggestions guys... but i dont know if exfoliating with a toothbrush will be a good idea cause i literally peel off skin everyday. Every morning i feel like i have a dry layer on my lips and after washing my face if i rub my fingers back and forth across my lips my skin will come off. My mom keeps telling me to stop touching my lips but i can't! i think im going thru withdrawl from chapstick.

ive heard of the lemon juice and glycerine before.... has anyone tried it?

Predatory

Ive heard saffron is good for lips but its temporary.

Gina's suggestion is one Ive heard before...

Agar koi baat bigar jaye...agar koi mushkil parjaye...
Tum dena saat mera...O Humnava
Na koi hai...na koi tha...zindagi mein tumhare siva...
Tum dena saat mera...O Humnava

U need to stop touching/rubbing u're lips! Even the little friction can cause them to go dark!

Rose petals and cream work as well
Glycerine and lemon juice.

I have read that dipping saffron in rosewater and applying to your lips also helps fade away the black color.
