i noticed pakistani lipsticks have incredible color payoff and are long lasting. they are comparable to MAC matte lippies but are more matte and the colors are pretty yucky looking on the tube but strangely look fantastic on dusky desi skintones.
Pakistan also gets makeup from other asian countries that are pretty good. Hong Kong, Japan, China all have similar weather conditions and so their makeup and skincare are more in accord for the needs of desi skin than are european/american brands. you need makeup that can withstand heat and humidity in pakistan.
to answer your Q....i've seen them sold in random stores in karachi. actually i remember seeing the brand medora....

Medora is still going nice and strong. I do agree about shades being more compatible with our duskier skin tones.

I love SwissMiss and Medora, although I like Medora's shades better. Also there is one shade that I used to use a lot that stained my lips so nicely.

True Gina but you never can get the shades of Revlon available in Pakistan in western countries.
I had a very cute plum revlon lippie and never was able to find the same shade here

I LOVE BROWN lipsticks. My favorite was one that THE BODY SHOP came out with several years ago. It was the most perfect shade of matte brown ever! And It was called Driftwood 02. I had bought it several times and then years ago Body Shop, to my horror, stopped making it. Some of it's previous shades such as Clover Pink, Plum, and Damson are still being sold. But it's a shame they got rid of Driftwood cuz it was the only brown (and a good one) in their lipstick selection.
And then I remember there was this awesome plummy brown matte lipstick called Jive Java by Loreal that was well-liked and sold several years ago. And then Loreal, to my horror, just stopped making that shade, got rid of it completely!
Man, I HATE it when companies stop making/selling something that i like and get used to. Any of your girls go through that?
But yes, I do agree with you guys. Last time I went to pakistan I saw my cousins wearing really nice perfect brown matte lipsticks. And it brought to my mind sad but fond memories of my relationship with Driftwood 02. Next time, i'm gonna ask my cousin to send me some Pak lipsticks through my Dad inshaAllah.
Have any of you guppies who live in the Middle-east seen Driftwood in the Body Shops over there? I used to live in Saudi.....so I'm wondering if it's only sold in some countries and not others...but I doube it
But for those of you who are like me and LOVE brown lipsticks and struggle to find nice ones in the US...........I recently bought Mocha from BOOTS No. 7, at Target and it's a really flattering color for desi skin tones.
