go for products that emphasize on care for dry hair... most of the time, the reason for dry hair is because of dying with chemical products. Tresemme has good shampoo and conditioner. I use it. Also, use a leave in-conditioner... you will see the difference!

Sometimes lack of vitamins/minerals (B-complex, Zinc, Iron) can cause hair to become dry and even brittle. So make sure that you're taking a good multivitamin. Hair needs water as well, so keep hydrated.
You can use shampoos/conditioners that are designed for dry hair. I like the herbal essences line, but you can use whatever suits you best. Massage your hair with oil (olive/coconut/mustard, etc) and wash your hair after an hour. You'll feel that your hair is so much softer even while shampooing it. Some people shampoo their hair, and then afterwards while their hair is wet they put a few SMALL drops of olive oil and lightly rub it on the ends of their hair, this keeps the hair softer.
Sometimes blow-drying, curling, and coloring your hair can cause it to become dry too.

I recently bought Organix Shea Butter shampoo, and conditioner as well. It's quite cheap in cost and amazing. I have dry and frizzy hair as well, but 2 weeks of using that has made my hair so much better. I was asked to try Pureology as well but I couldn't find the type for my hair that day so I ended up buying this one.

I have similar issues. Maybe it's the name
I started doing what I describe here: Hair care
This makes a huge difference. Actually it's been a couple weeks -- I should do it again soon!

Winters can cause really dry hair.. u may use a leave-in conditioner and a nourishing hair mask 2 times a week.. hot oil treatments also improve the quality of u're hair
Use products for dry/frizzy hair, and apply u're conditioner to the ends of u're hair shaft. Olive oil really nourishes dry/damaged hair..
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!
