I can so visualize a person saying that too.
Its ballet, and they are flat grandma looking shoes, mostly come with polka dots or stripes for the young ones.

Here in England, I think we have a good range of ballet pumps. They don't look gradma-ish. You get pretty coloured ones, jewelled ones, pointy ones, round one, metallic ones, leather ones, suede one...list goes on.

i wore a ton of these over the summer- sometimes they have little buckles in the front too- i have a beige/gold pair, a bright turqoise pair, a red pair, a black pair, two brown pairs, and a leopard print one- i love them! they're comfortable, easy to walk in when the weather's beautiful, and you can go crazy with colors, patterns and prints! yay!

I love ballet pumps! So versatile and comfy, and i have so much of em!
Ranging from my black and cream Chanel pair, to the black buckled Primark pair, they are a wardrobe essential for me (i'm afraid to count how many pairs i have!)
They come in a huge range of colours, patterns and affordable prices. I usually wear them with skirts, jeans (skinny or boyfriend) and cigarette pants. I'm not sure they suit shalwar kameez... what do you think?

I think Ballet pumps do suit certain shalwar kameez, depends on the style though.
I used to have the most amazing pair of Bertie ballet pumps until my sister ruined them! Urgh!
They are so comfy and the colours, oh man the colours!

Boyfriend pants are just what they sound like, something you'd borrow and wear from your boyfriend assuming he's bigger than you.
So they are loose rather than fitted and incorporate quite a few styles together but mostly bootleg style

Oh so they're ballet shoes! They're like the stylish flats that are out these days. I was wondering what the heck belly shoes were, lol. I saw a pair of ruby red flats called "Cherry Coke" by Antonio Melani at Dillard's a few weeks ago, and I've developed a fetish for just that particular pair of flats! I've searched the Internet and couldn't find but ONE picture of the beautiful shoes. And that picture (perhaps it's the poor ligthing) does not do justice to how lovely these shoes really are in person. I'm mean they scream "look at me" and yet they're soooo casual. I just wanna put them on and click my feet together and say, "There's no place like home. There's no place like home."
And that's damn right, there's no better place for them except for MY HOME, in my room and in my closet, lol. InshAllah soon, I'll buy them. For now here's a really SUCKY picture of the ruby reds that I oh so love.
