Baby Cream won't irritate u're skin CE if u're complaint is that it's dry.. if u want something to treat breakouts.. it's best to wait it out.. just don't put any harsh chemicals at the moment.

Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

Hey Gina & others,

I dont have a very clear skin. Little skin coloured acne, a few pores and black heads on and off. Even if the black heads and acne are not there, the skin does not look clear. It doesnt feel soft, its a little bumpy. Also, i think it doesnt look fresh much. I use basin to cleanse sometimes but it doesnt glow or look clean completely.

What should i do to give it a clear and flawless finish type look?
Which creams or remedies would you recommend for cleansing, toning, moisturising?
Which routine should i follow?
Which food products & drinks should i eat more?

Steep water with a bunch of mint leaves, cool and drink it all day.

For the acne marks u should see a derm and get a prescription for HQ which stops the production of melanin.

For blackheads, use a good face scrub 2-3 times a week.. baking soda mixed with a little water.. left on the affected area for 20 mins works well (rub-it off like u'd use a scrub)

U can apply ice to temp shrink u're pores and after cleansing always use a non-alcoholic toner.astringent.

To avoid furthur damage invest in a GOOD sunblock meant for u're skin.

Once a week use a deep cleansing face mask (neutrogena is great)

oh you are great! What a prompt reply.

The acne are under control, i did visit the dermatologist. Just a few skin coloured little ones are there, they dont hurt or anythign but are just there. As for the black heads, yes i do scrub them off mostly.

I will try icing the pores for sure. Please tell me which creams/products would you recommend for cleansing, toning, moisturizing, exfoliating etc.?

I just want to follow an everyday routine like when i get back home from work at night, i should cleanse my skin using basin, haldi, milk etc. paste, then after cleansing i should use a toner/astringent (which one do you suggest?), then i can ice the pores, apply a moisturizer (suggest this too) and go to sleep. will that be okay?

There's no use of treating marks and scars using topical remedies and gels..when u're acne is still active a re-occuring.. u'll still be getting scars and at the end u're skin will be uneven.

Cure u're acne first..it could be solved by antibiotics or topical creams, but a derm has to assess u're skin and prescribe u medication. The scars can be worked on later.

Nancy, if u have large/open pores skip the steam step..continue with the rest.
Nozoral doesnt come to Pakistan anymore, any idea from where i can get it??

drink green veggie smoothies daily. i drink them daily and trust me i had bad skin but mashallah its healing, its basically alot of green leafy veg blended and drank...you drink it once a day.results take about 6 weeks ....my friends have tried this and in 4 to weeks they had clearer skin through their diets and lots of water. also try a mud mask once a week, exfoliate 2 times a week. and use an egg white and lemon mask on the face 3 times a week....youll see a difference with all this in a month...promise, i did the same things as are my friends and my cousin.

i've always wondered, does putting baking soda on the affected area help remove the blackheads? or do you use it after you've already removed them?

If u're looking for a home-made scrub the BEST one is "badaam ki khalli" it's just dried almond peels.. ground-up.

I don't like besan too much as it dries-up the skin and "soaks-up" most of the essential facial oils (sebum)

Rosewater is by far the best toner

Cleansing
Toning
Moisturizing
Sunblock

need to be a part of u're daily skin-care regimen..

Scrubbing 2-3 times a week

Deep cleansing mask once a week.

Help! I'm getting married in December and I have a major skin issue.

Before this, I had never had a major break out, but all of a sudden, at the end of last year, I got a cyst, and in trying to get rid of it, I used a Neutrogena product that was similar to Proactiv. That resulted in a HUGE break out that has basically ruined my face.

I was first put on Differin, which made it MUCH worse. I saw a new dermatologist and after being put on a strict regimen of 2 antibiotics a day, plus topical creams of erythromycin in the morning and retin A at night, all of my acne went away within a month.

Like you've said earlier, you need to treat the scarring only after the acne has left. So now I don't have any acne thank God but I'm left with some pits and reddish marks where the pimples were. The reddish marks bother me the most...

My question is, what is the MOST effective thing I can do to get rid of this? I'm not averse to doing something like microdermabrasion or laser resurfacing...but then again, if there's something like a cream I can use that will help fade them out, I'd rather do that. I also bought that Shiseido lightening kit that sumorani talked about in another thread, but I haven't started using it yet. I know the retin A should help, but I thought I'd get your input. Thanks as always Gina!

Fasaadi, these acne scars take time.. but the most effective treatment is alternate sessions of glycolic peels and micro-dermabraision. As well as HQ or any skin-lightening cream. Sometimes derms prescribe mixing retin A with a bleaching agent..

It's best to have u're skin assesed and get the best cocktail of treatments catered for u're skin-type.

Glycolic peels and Micro-derm would give u the fastes results though
