Hi all , Salamz
I am new here Although i have been on paklinks for quite a while (as a ghost visitor hehe) , but didnt feel the necessity to create an account.
Un till i saw these gorgeous designs of female ''sherwani/jackets''.
My friend introduced me to this forumboard and recommended me to join it
To be very honest I am personally not that very much into buying original Pakistani designer wear ,except bareeze , gulahmed , and all other reasonable priced labels.
I feel you ussually pay the price tag more for its name when you can get a knockoff replica for even less than the half price! Without a doubt Pakistani designers are really talented and.
I am a student and not willing to use my creditcard for every gorgeous outfit i see....plus my mother tells me to invest in jewellery rather in kaprey waghera only ...
I aave also seen some homebased designers here creating fabulous work like Pakifairy , Cyme and prototype....and i thought this place would be the best option to place my question.
Now i have this only one dilema which is sherwani's are made and stritched differently then a normal plain lengha / shalwar kameez and kurtis.
I guess the measurements are different and the whole finishing and extra details require sherwani skilled darzi's or am i wrong?
okay so i really don't know how much umar sayeed will quote these jackets what are ussually his price range? does anyone know ?
i have really fallen in love with them! i am willing to pay a few extra bucks for the original even if it will cause a dent in my wallet i am a little worried that a copy for this will be not as nice looking ...
Seriously i am drooling over these pictures....they will look fabulous with hijab , with western wear and for a party..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Girls what should i do ? how can i contact Umar bhai....and to buy or not to buy that is the question?!

I saw the blue jacket at Soiree in Dubai and the tag read Dhs. 11,500
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

Hi shay , and Gina thanks for your replies.
OTT ? you mean over the top ? do you mean that the designs are a lil bit gaudy
Oyeee i have to check at the currency converter how much 11500 dirhams would be....?
Gina are dubai dirhams same as saudi riyals? i am guessing it would be around 230 euros...gosh that is expensive !
By the way i got crazy quotes for deepak perwanis carnaval collection (outfits from his london show) not worth the price though!

Gina - That's defintely a huge markup don't you think?
I'm sure it wouldn't cost as much to order it from his studio directly, would it?

They are gaudy looking and I cannot imagine myself stepping out of the house in those. I prefer my regular tops over those. And with that kind of amount for them, I can hit the mall and enjoy an amazing shopping spree

those jackets are hideous. I wouldn't wear them even if he gave them out for free. The shoulder cuts are so unflattering for women, something from way back in the 80's that should be kept in the past. You only find those shoulders on men's sports jackets or winter coats. I would most definitely buy an American or European designers jacket over this stuff. Have no idea what he was thinking.

hey guys im new here... well been a ghost visitor for ages but just signed up actually, neways moved to US a lil more than a year ago and living in a mid sized city right now...well the point of telling all this is that i dont see these jackets fit in here, i mean back home they "might be" fine coz we desi's are used to bright colors , fancy embroideries and bold prints much more than these goras, we have a very flamboyant sense of fashion in comparison to the angrezi rookha peekha style, i mean they are trying but .... a long way to go!
in short moral of the story: no place in my wardrobe
