I have the exact same problem... I have to shampoo every day or every other day or else my hair look really messy... I tried using the baby shampoo but it makes your hair really really flat... Have no idea what to do!

BABY POWDER! It works wonders, seriously. I don't wash my hair everyday and sometimes it doesn't look nice. Sprinkle baby powder at the roots and finger/comb it through. It adds volume to your hair so it doesn't look flat and it takes the oil out. And it smells nice

this whole don't shampoo ur hair everyday thing is a beauty myth- ppl with fine hair can shampoo everyday b/c their hair gets oily easily. if you wash ur hair everyother day then who cares about the 3rd day--cuz it's not suppose to happen according to ur rountine anyway rite?

Shampooing everyday strips u're hair of natural oils and color (if u've dyed them) if u're roots turn oily u can buy a dry shampoo.. (for dark hair)
For those that have very oily roots.. u can rinse u're hair with 1 part shampoo to 3 parts water.. just dilute it and rinse u're hair.
Hair needs a break from the detergents and inevitable roughness that comes with shampooing..both which can rough-up a hair's protective cuticle layer.
Sebum, is a natural conditioner..
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

Try changing your diet. See if this works - as it has always worked for me.
Cut down on greasy food, chocolates, fizzy drinks, burgets, fast foods etc. Drink lots of water and eat lots of lentils, fruit and vegetables, boiled rice, fish etc. Avacado, strawberries, melons, apples etc. If you find it hard to eat fruit and vegggies - put them all in a juice machine and gulp it down.
I think skin and hair texture has a lot to do with diet.

Greasy hair. I think what helped me is using head & shoulders. Plus not sure if you do but try not touching your hair often cz i know that was a bad habbit of mine. Now though my hair still gets greasy after like a day, i use dry shampoo only like £2 and it does the job esp if i tie my hair back. Also weird as this sounds i found conditioner makes my hair greasy too.

ok i have curly hair, i did a perfect blow dry which took me about 40mins..and the moment i went out..within 20-30mins my hair changed from straight to wavy perhaps it was the horrible dubai humidity that caused it.
i wana know how to keep ur blow dry intact as long as u r out in the hot weather????

I can go up to 2.5 days without washing my hair. They stay dry altho the third day it begs to be cleaned. I use Body Shop's Oil Balance shampoo and sometimes Kadus anti-hair fall..they've helped me quite a lot.

asho, use a hair serum.. this will weigh down u're hair and make u're roots oily the next day..but it's the best way to avoid frizzy hair..caused by humidity.

Hey Tabu,
Your skin and scalp secrete their own natural oils...that can be beneficial for us. For example, the natural oils secreted by our skin help to prevent wrinkles to an extent. In some individuals too little oil is produced, or too much is produced.
When you wash your scalp every day, you are stripping it of it's natural oils. And in order to compensate for that loss....your scalp will start produce more oil than before. So, use a good shampoo for oily hair. Or even a clarifying shampoo....which removes oil/residue from hair is good too. I've tried Suave Clarifying shampoo and found that it helps prevent greasy hair. The herbal essences line is also nice. A shampoo for oily hair will help control oil secretion so you won't have to wash your hair as often.
Also, brushing your hair tooo much can over-circulate your natural oils....causing hair to be greasy. So, don't brush it too much. And give your hair a break from styling products like hair gel and hairspray. Also, I think that it's best to avoid conditioner because it can weigh hair down.
Your hair will be as healthy as you are on the inside. So, eat a proper diet and take a multivitamin, get sufficient sleep, and reduce stress. Hopefully it'll get better soon.
