ok..these days the trend is to match the accessories to the embroidery color of your outfit, or the piping color, or any one secondary color in ur outfit to pull together the whole look...

but i have this gorgeous huge red ruby/kundan ring that i wanna wear; now is it essential that i can only wear it with a red outfit or an outfit which has accents of red in it? i thought cocktail rings, irrespective of the color can be worn with pretty much any color dress so long as the color doesnt clash..

e.g. i know i wudnt wear a purple cocktail ring on a red outfit or vice versa...but how abt wearing the red one on a baby pink outfit or a ferozi outfit???? (and no there is no red embrodery on them!)

Rockon,

Fashion doesn't always match, and it looks cool sometimes. I've seen many girls wear rings of a completely different color than their clothes.....and it looks very stylish....like a unique fashion statement.

I have this bright blue turquoise cluster ring that I really love....and I wear it with outfits with no blue in them at all...and I've received so many compliments on that ring.

I've seen people mix red and pink together and it looks fine. Look at the outfit pics in the link below. Red and blue is one of my FAVORITE combinations.....it's so bold and elegant at the same time.....its especially my favorite combo for bridal wear. You can definitely wear the ruby ring with a blue outfit.

You can also wear the ruby ring with a green outfit. And that is because red and green are opposites on the color wheel and compliment each other very nicely. That is why often times desi bridal wear has a combo of red and green.

I think the ruby ring would look better with a purple outfit that has also has some red in it.....or maybe a deep purple outfit. Like shown in the link below:

I second kali billi. I love accesorizing but i hate matching, wear it with something pink/purple or even a black/white suit. Whatever it goes with.

yeah i also thought that u cud match earrings / necklace to color of embroidery, but when wearing a statement piece like a cocktail ring, it doesnt have to match; it should just "gel" with the outfit...

i know the matchy matchy trend is so over, but u still have to match ur earrings to embroidery color of ur dress

weeelll...my opinion...too much matching looks a bit like "i was trying since hours and hours to match everything" and if u do a bit contrast or even tries to combine things which arent same colour looks cool! its just like ur own style...and believe me people will love it!!
