i was thinking of sending an ajrak shawl for my mother in pakistan, but i dont know if they are better for the winter or summer, since it is very hot in pakistan right now. does anyone know? please help!

Isnt ajrak a dyed material? Shawls are really nice in Pakistan.. and winters gone too 
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

i think the term ajrak refers to a sindhi shawl. They are usually the typical ethnic print. My uncle is sindhi and talks about them and his are the black dark maroon and white ones.

ajrak is typically not worn in summer because it is unsuitable/uncomfortable in the heat.

ajrak is the sindhi shawl.. however ajrak is reffered to more as a design itself than a particular type of shawl...
there are ajrak bed sheets, shawls, suits...
so i guess it depends on the fabric of ur ajrak shawl... if its closer to a heavy cotton it might be wise to use it with an airy lawn-ish shirt.
