So, i've got a wedding coming up..
I've got a very simply chiffon/crepe navy blue sari to wear to it.. its got very halka hakla goldish (almost silver) print on it.. and small small beads all over it..
i paid a fortune for it, dunno why.. khair
what kinda makeup should i do? I was gonna go to MAC and get them to do it, but the hubz aint going to the wedding (no kids allowed so he's babysitting).. so i cant be bothered being all dolled up without him... im just gonna do it myself..
what should i do? I was thinking of smoky eyes with a hint of gold.. and nude lipstick.. the MAC kind...
can someone tell me HOW to do the smokey eye look.. pls
happy happy happy... happy happy happy

Hmmm....I'm thinking that since the sari is navy blue, which is a dark color in itself....smokey eyes might make the overall look darker. In my opinion....stick to lighter eye shadow....because lighter shades make your eyes pop and appear bigger. You said that you had silvery embroidery....why not try a silvery/shimmery white eyeshadow? Or maybe a smokey silver look? Then apply eyeliner and mascara...and a nude/pinkish-brown lipstick.

sadzzz,
When you're at home....go to youtube.com. And type in Mac eyeshadow and (name of color you want).....hit search....and you'll get demo videos for eyeshadow applications of various colors/looks.

go with a softer look on ur face.. u have a dramatic color in ur clothes.. pick out the color of the lightest work on the pallu and use that for ur eye shadow tones.. itll highlight the color of ur saari! sometimes if u use dark colors on ur eyes with a dark toned dress.. it tends to dull u out..
jst a suggestion.. maybe use the gold tones in ur saari and highlight ur eyes with an electric blue eye liner..

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond to look beyond the imperfections!

Def blue smokey eyes.. and a pearly pink lipstick to complete it!
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

^ That's a good idea. I might try that out for a special occasion. I have had the experts apply eyeshadow on me before and they do a nice job, but haven't done a complete look.
How much do they charge to get your makeup done?

over here they charge u $95, but thats all redeemable. So they either give you a voucher so you can buy the makeup later, or you can purchase the make up (whatever you want) on the same day..

wow, interesting. Usually their products are expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if the total of them (foundation, eyeshadow, concealer, highlighter, blush, lipstick) comes to about 95 or even more than that. Their foundation alone is $ 25.

u'd be surprised how much you can get. I usually can come back with three good products.. like bronzer/blush.. lipgloss and an eyeshadow..
Just decide on what you actually need before u go.. they sometimes con you into getting stuff u dont need. Naive me would always fall into that trap.. but ive got my make up done by them so many times now.... i think i know better. Lets hope so neways! hehe

I've actually seen a pretty look with gold eyeshadow and it was a more gold dull shade and blue liquid liner, it looked really pretty. i know it sounds odd...
Also i had good results with navy eyeshdadow i really liked revlon's palette but mac has this thing called paint pot, it's the perfect eyeshadow primer and makes any color show up pure. anyhow the blue in this is just sooo pretty it's got a shimmer somewhat two toned look to it, you can use liquid liner to wing out on the ends and use black in the corner to blend it and the top color on your lid to add more effect, but just the navy plain and alone is quite nice. (i like to use the top color very lightly from my crease to my brows. if you make it show up too much it's overpowering so that's a heads up).
it's revlon's colorstay eyeshadow quad and i highly recommend "in the bluff" for everday wear. it's natural, stays on all day without an eyeshadow primer, great for work.
Don't mess with Texas...
