I've started microderm sessions, had my first one, but my therapist says I can't have my other session till after 4 weeks! It was very "abrasive" (quote)and she applied a moisturiser with an AHA or something after it. I suggested that 4 weeks is too long, but she suggested otherwise.
Anyway, didnt think to ask her if I can use any masks/exfoliators during this time, as it 4 weeks seems like such a long wait... Can I use any such thing during the 4 week period? Or should I stay away from such things...
Please shed some light (preferably Gup Shups skin doctor Gina!)

I had a few sessions done before my wedding. (Btw where you getting it done from?) I went to Caryl baker, they did an amazing job. She totally recommended me to follow my normal skin care routine. Just use lots of sunblock and to not go in the sun unnecessarily. And since I had just bought an equalizing mask from them during those days, she told me to use it like once -twice a week or so until the 4 week period. Rest Gina will advise you on

Microderm sessions are usually done every 10-15 days.. and they aren't that abrasive for u're therapist to give a gap of 4 weeks.. unless u had a reaction to the oxide crystals..
The only thing u shud be doing is cleansing u're skin really well.. and ALWAYS wear sunscreen..it's u're BEST friend if u're having any kind of treatments dones.
Do not scrub u're face or use any products with any type of "acid" in it for now..
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

Microderm is a fine exfoliant..gets rid of dead skin cells.. it's not suitable for people with acne

Microderm can't be done at home..unless u buy a home microderm kit.. Neutrogena and Oil of Olay both have them.. just follow the instructions, don't over-do it..and never be without a sunblock!

but once you get rid of acne, can't you use it to help with scarring? I'm not sure what the best treatment for scars and dark spots from previous acne would be...

I'm getting it done, too. I started out with a 15 day gap but now I'm doing it once a month (until my sessions end). I chose to keep this schedule because, a. I'm lazy to go twice a week, and b. I want to lenghten the duration between sessions since I feel I don't need it too often.
Don't use any other products on your face, apart from your usual skincare (cleansing) routine. Don't wipe your face after washing it, just gently dab with a soft towel. The skin does get a bit sensitive so try to avoid wearing any kind of makeup atleast 24 hours after the session, and always wear sunscreen even if the sun aint bright enough outside.

Fasaadi, for acne scars the best treatment is alternating microderm session with glycolic peels.. microderm is milder than the peels..
Vital, where are u getting u'res done? Please tell me it's not Kaya

NOPE! A client got chemical burns on her face.. and Kaya did NOTHING to help her out except offer her 2 complimentary microderm sessions! Cosemosurge is wayyyyy better than Kaya.. I used to go to Kaya myself but since this horror story I quit
Aesthetica is great too!

Oh no, I've got atleast 2 ASR and photofacial sessions left. So far, I haven't experienced any problems with them. I've also got a few sessions left for my hair reduction package..What i don't like about these packages is that they get us to pay for the whole thing, then later when we don't need the treatment anymore, they don't give us a refund. Like now, I don't need the hair reduction session anymore, coz Alhamdulillah 4 sessions helped me. Now I gota wait for the hair to re-grow to get my money back!
Cosmesurge is in Ajman and Dubai right? I don't think I need to go for anymore sessions anywhere. It's too much stress and hassle once you commit!
Thanks though

Sayyma how long has it been since u're peel? If it's been more than a week u may scrub..
Vital, I've heard plenty of horror stories from Kaya.. I used to go their branch in Jumeira.. and after a couple of stories I quit! I never took any package deals either.. I realized that Kaya is way more expensive than the others..while the others are so much better!
