hi guys, sana beautician is here for u!!!if u hav any skin related prblems let me know..i will tell u simple ways to get ur beauty back or which can help u to make u more handsome...ok larkon karkooonn....
Men's skin care is essential just like it is for women. Many of the similar problems such as acne, rosacea and oil happen to men. However, that doesn't mean that men and women can use the same skin care products. Men's skin is different from women's. Therefore, men need specific skin care products for them. They can be so needy, huh?
Healthy skin is clear of any skin care problems. The difference between healthy, cared for skin and unhealthy, uncared for skin is obvious. If one is not taking care of their skin, we can all tell!
So where does a man start?
First, determine skin type. There are four different skin types. Each skin type will have a different solution to combat the problems that comes with that particular skin type.
1. Normal: You have normal skin if you don't notice any particular skin problems. Maybe the occasional pimple or a dry patch in cold weather, but other than that, nothing.
2. Oily: If you have oily skin you will have lots of acne, blackheads and/or whiteheads. Whenever you look in the mirror you probably look a little shiny. You may feel you have a lot of skin problems, but with the right skin care products, the problems will go away.
3. Dry: Dry skin feels tight and uncomfortable, especially after a shower or after the face is cleansed. Dry skin also ages faster, so premature aging and wrinkles may be noticeable. A good moisturizer will correct dry skin quickly.
4. Combination: Unfortunately, combination skin gets the problems of both dry and oily skin. Lucky, right? No...a little more work involved in this one. It maybe trial and error with skin care. But with patience, the right products will fix everything up!
Now what?
It is time to go shopping for those skin care products. Products needed: Cleanser, Exfoliate, Toner, Moisturizer, plus any skin specific products.- Cleanser: Men need a cleanser that is fragrance free and detergent free. The best cleanser for oily/combination skin will be one that foams. Foamy cleansers remove the most oil. For dry skin, a creamy cleanser will be best and more moisturizing. Cleanse face in the morning before shaving and at night before going to bed. Never use a bar soap on your face. It is far too harsh!
- Exfoliate: Everyone gets a buildup of dead skin cells on the top of the skin. That is why it is essential to exfoliate every week. Exfoliating will also help prevent ingrown hairs and razor burn while shaving. Also, skin care products work best when they can penetrate the skin instead of lying on top of dead skin that needs to be removed.
- Toner: Toner is not a step for everyone, just for oily and combination skin. This will help close pores, which will reduce the oil on skin.
- Moisturizer: Moisturizer is needed by everyone. For dry/normal skin the best moisturizer is a cream. For oily/combination skin the best will moisturizer will be an oil-free moisturizer. Because dangerous UVA and UVB rays is always around, a moisturizer with an SPF 15 will help prevent sun-damage as well.
- Specific Skin Care Product: This depends on the specific problem one may have. If you have acne problems, you will need a spot acne treatment. If you have severe dry skin you may want an extra creamy moisturizer to combat this problem.

why do men 'need' a cleanser that is fragrance free and detergent free.
is it that everyone needs a cleanswer that is fragrance free and detergent free because there is some problem with those things
or
men need cleansers that are fragrance and detergent free because there is something specific with mens skin that cant handle these things while women's skin can.
thanks

So you're saying women's skin can tolerate harsh chemicals, detergents, and fragrance...??? ...
Au contraire.

I understand that there are differences in skin, from thickness to pore sizes, general moisture levels and beyond, but what I am trying to understand is why is it that only men need fragrance and detergent free cleansers. Just curious.

why does my skin breakout in patterns? so one week i will have a pimple or two on the right side of my face and the other would be clear and by next week when the pimples on the right side have almost cleared up i start breaking out on the left side and the cycle continues.
what cleanser do you suggest that is fragrance-free and detergent-free for a dude whose got normal to oily skin and has red acne scars? i have tried one of those nivea cleansers for men that are fragrance-free and it did not do justice to my skin.
Also, what do i use to get rid of redness on my face due to acne scars?

A man's skin is thicker than a woman's skin. This means that women are more vulnerable to damage of the skin caused by the suns UVA rays and is one of the principle reasons why female skin suffers more from sun aging
The skin on a mans face is more delicate than for a woman. You wouldnt think that this is the case. However, there are some reasons why this is true:
-mens skin tends to be exposed more often to damaging environmental elements
-daily shaving destroys the hydrolipidic film, leading to loss of natural lubrication and protection
-daily shaving also causes scraping and nicks
All of these factors result in mens skin becoming more sensitized than womens skin and more easily irritated.
BUT men can use any products from the women's range and vice versa, not much changes with terms to ingredients.
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

Breakouts can happen due to a shift in lifestyle or hormones. Any cleanser for acne prone skin can be used. Clean & Clear, Neutrogena, Noxema..
Let the scars settle, if they're still red they need time for cell turnover..eventually they'll turn to a deeper shade of brown. And that's when you can lighten them with over-the-counter and prescription medicine.

Soaps contain surfactants which are horrible for u're skin.. and washing it twice with soap? Ordinary soap will strip away the protective layer as the face is much more sensitive to irritants. Using soap for the face may feel nice but you will get wrinkles earlier than normal since it dries out the skin.

I still beg to differ Sana, soap contains harsh chemicals and acids.. one's that strip u're skin off of natural oils. NO derm suggests u use soap on u're face ( and that too twice)
Block and White is a lightening soap, and contains even more chemicals than regular soap.. people that step out in the sun will face sun spots as well as scars.

^ I would agree with Gina. Soap contains chemicals which are too harsh to use on the face and its always advised against using it. U might see some results in the short term but in the long term ur skin will definately suffer with the onset of wrinkles earlier and saggier skin.

i agree with sana, it depends on what type of soap you are using. not all of them re harmful for face. and lots of face washes leave your face greasy..

I've never been told not to use soap n currently i use the 'Simple' soap with no perfume n ph neutral, should i stop using tht?
Thanx

MM, soap strips u're skin of all natural oils and leaves u're face very dry.. and prone to premature wrinkles. There are many facewashes available in the markets for acne prone skin..ANY good dermatologist would tell u to stay clear of soaps..
Neutrogena
Noxema
Clearasil
Clean & Clear
Murad
Are all safe to use..
