I highlighted my hair a while ago. I had natrually black hair. It damaged my hair so bad plus now its been a while so its looking bad from the roots.
My question is, if I color it back to black...will it damage more? whats the best way to make it all one dark color again without damaging it? Is Henna recommended?
Thanks for your help guysss! Gupshup is the best!!! =)

Henna is never really recommended if you think that you may want to color again.
If you had naturally black hair then you must have gone through a very intense chemical process to color it any other shade. If that is the case the I would recommend going to a good colorist to darken it again.

Then use a deep conditioning treatment weekly....something that you apply, wrap in towel and apply heat......to nurse it back to health.

The deed is done.....now you must pay the price.

Snobish

I second Muzna. Go to a salon to have it dyed to a darker shade, and make sure you use rich treatments for damaged coloured hair. Australian hair products are always good to use, as legally they have to include sun protection and other things in their hair care products, which in turn really nourishes the hair.

Also, if, by highlighting your hair, your hair has become really damaged, this makes me think that your hair was slighty damaged (from heat styling use?) from before. I may be wrong, but just ensure your hair has regained its healthiness before opting for any other colour treatments, and go easy on the heat stylers !

Mellow

this is exactly what I did to my hair. I have naturally black hair I had light highlights done and it really damaged my hair.
To fix the problem. I purchased the Frederic Fekkai hair color from sephora for $30.00 in Dark Brown Shade and colored my hair myself. Even thought I used Dark Brown color my hair turned nice shade of black.
I deep condition my hair every other day by putting condition on dry hair for about half an hour before taking a shower. It has improved the condition of my hair allot. I would not recommend henna because its very drying for hair.
One more thing if you decide to get your hair colored from a professional salon. Make sure that they don't use black dye that has blue undertone. Your hair will become gothic black. Its best to use dark brown color.
