My beautician gave me MD formulations cleanser, in conjunction with the face and body scrub to use and I find that this has really helped.
It is a little bit expensive here in the UK, but you'll find it is cheaper in America/website. However, you do get a lot of use from one bottle.

I would say any products from:
MD
Skinceuticals
Jan Marini
DDF
Also, if your acne is cystic, you may ask your Dr to prescribe you a benzoyl peroxide cleanser.

My face has been breaking out every few months since the last couple of years. Usually it clears up within a week or so but it hasn't in the past 7 weeks. My skin has always been very clear so now this is bothering me. That's why I need to know what can stop it from coming back. Every day, I see a few more breakouts.

Ok, it could just be hormones flaring...but it's best to see your dermatologist... sounds like you could have dormant acne, which could be treated with tretinoin and/or antibiotics. I think this issue is deeper than the epedermis....so superficial cleansers/creams available in drugstores (especially if they don't have a product licence number on the back) won't do much.

Sounds like you have exactly the same problem as me Pareezay. I get acne for a couple of months either during summer or when I've been stressed about exams, and it has been like this for the past 8 years, and mainly on my back.
This might not be a solution that is recommended or for everyone, but last year after more than 5 years I got fed up of being put on antibiotics and other acne drugs, that I just stopped taking them, because they weren't helping me at all. Instead, I get a microderm every month and use the MD cleanser. Alhumdulillah I haven't had any breakout for a year, depite the amount of stress I have been under for the last two months. However, I am hoping to be referred to a dermotologist soon to discuss removing the scars on my back by laser.

ive read a lot of good reviews about DDF but havent used any myself.
if its bothering you a lot and uve tried using a few things on ur own, u should see a derm.
I'm better than you and you know it. P.S. I purposely made this bright to annoy you.

anything with either benzoyl peroxide or 2% salicylic acid is the best for oily skin and acne.

Pareezay, most important is to stick to one product or product range. Most acne cleansers are very drying and it's important to use a oil-free moisturizer with it as well as a toner.
Like maroush said, it sounds hormone related and perhaps u shud get a simple test done.
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!
