^ Considering the outfit my mum just made from him and a couple of other qoutes I got, I would say close to 1.75 - 2 lakhs.

man ziggy, do u think it's worth that much? this guy is just so expensive. i mean from what i remember seeing it up close it was all just thread work, no sequins at all.
my sister is getting the following outfit for the engagment, its is rs 110,000 but the workmanship was very very intricate
which outfit did ur mum get made?

I'm OFF Umar Sayeed ever since he quoted one dress to be $18,000 it was pure threadwork and swarovski crystals..
The prices are unreasonable..
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

If the price he qoutes matches the one that i'm guessing, then not really. I would probably go for one of his other outfits. The one for my mum was custom made - It's beige coloured thereadwork , accented with small silver sequins, worked upon navy blue raw silk. There's some work on the dupatta along with swarovski crystal work along the v-neckline and the collar of the shirt.
It's the first outfit we've ordered from him and it's simply gorgeous. When I originally saw the pics of the made outfit, I thought this could be made at any darzi, but the outfit in real life is far from a badly made copy. It just looks very regal and the fitting and cut are amazing.
No doubt he is very expensive, but I can't help admiring the work on some of his outfits

some of his outfits are absolutely stunning, so if you have that kind of money to throw around, then yeah, its worth it.

well as yet i still have not had my email replied to, even tho his brother said he would reply and keeps on insisting that orders for december need to be placed in the next 1-2 days. im so over the lack of respect the pakistan fashion industry has for it's customers, something really needs to be done about it

I completely agree. I love his clothes and they have a sumptuous luxury look to them but the price is tooooooooooo high.

only a few of his clothes are wearable for brides.. the rest have a dull look to them which might look great for parties, etc but definitely not for a wedding. personally im not fond of the floral karhai/pattern and threadwork which he does, i have seen too many bedsheets and cushion covers with that sort of design so his clothes just remind me of them.. that's why i can't imagine my bridal being like that.. lol. i do like a few of his designs.. particularly his sarees, and the black and red outfits which i think are gorgeous.
and as for the whole price issue, if you're gonna go to a designer, especially someone of a high caliber like umar sayeed, be prepared to hear ridiculous prices. these designers' clothes cater to the elite in pakistan who don't mind paying the price.
Choose your battles wisely.
Not everyone is worth wasting time over.
