I've never used it but it makes sense. Aspirin is acetyl-salicylic acid, which is a form of salicylic acid, the same drug used in acne creams. Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory drug, which is exactly what you need for pimples, since they are just inflamed "infections."
But you have to be careful when using aspirin for acne. The acne creams only have 2% salicylic acid, but when you use aspirin, you are getting 100% concentration of the medicine. So it's a LOT stronger and can really dry out the skin. It's probably ok if you have oily skin and you use a good moisturizer.. and only use aspirin once or twice a month.. but it can be really drying for already dry skin.
Personally I'll stick with the besan, turmeric, and milk mask! It works like magic

I heard that if you apply aspirin crushed with a little water to your skin, it gets rid of blackheads...

yes! i've heard of this a few times myself and wanted to try it. but from what i remember, you're not supposed to have it on for 30 mins. i remember someone telling me that i can use it as a scrub, and i have to leave it on for 5 mins. 5 mins and 30 mins have a big difference. sooo..i'm not sure what the correct leaving-on time is

I tried it ages ago and even though it did work on my skin...I noticed my hair got thinner...noticably thinner.
I did the aspirin mask twice a week and by the second week my pony tail was really thin and I knew it was the aspirin so I stopped immediately. After I stopped, a few weeks later my hair was back to normal.

whoa PSquared, are you serious? I personally wouldn't recommend these strange remedies for the face. guys honestly if you really have bad skin or whatever just go to the dermotologist. its your face, dont jeopardize it with all these ulti-pulti strategies.

Asprin has a concentrated amount of salicylic acid.. and if left on for too long it can cause u're skin to burn and leave u with a dark/patchy scar.
A salicylic peel is a better option.. (please consult u're derm first) If u're breaking out in different area's..
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

I'm sure this is one of Gina's advices, since I read it on this forum. I use 1 tbsp of besan and 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, with just enough milk to make a paste, then apply it to the face. I massage it in gently then leave it on for 10 mins or so.. and then scrub it off. It makes my face brighter. I don't have serious pimples, just a few tiny ones here and there. But I have scars from back when I used to have pimples and the besan stuff helps with both. You might have to use it a few times before seeing significant results if you have a lot of pimples, but I'm not sure.. Gina could help probably.
Also, I had a lot of breakouts before.. really big bad pimples all over my cheeks. I wasted money on so many creams, but finally went to the dermatologist. It was a lot cheaper to just go to the doctor! She gave me some medicine and creams and it only took about 3 weeks of use and I started to get clear skin. So definitely go to the doctor instead of trying things that may or may not work. And some creams can leave scar and large pores which look really bad even after the pimples are gone.

Perhaps u should see another derm he/she may want to put u on Roaccutane, or prescribe oral antibiotics. (it's usually a small dose for a couple of months)
Sometimes topical ointments and creams aren't enough..

My derm gave me antibiotics too.. I guess that's what makes the difference. Maybe ask the derm if antibiotics can help you.

Very serious. Aspirin is an oral medication, think twice before putting something like that on your face!

Okay, from what I understand...Retin A is not to be used alone...or am I wrong here? When my doctor prescribed Retin A to me...I was to use it in conjunction with two other ointments: Benzoyl Peroxide was one and the other was Azithromycin I believe...I will have to check for you.
Switch doctors if you have to but dont put medication on your face that is actually supposed to be going into your tummy!!!
I would switch derms and inquire about the peels.

In my case, ointments werent enough at all.
One more thing that made a difference in me was vitamins. Please dont neglect your vitamins ladies!!!
Other then that, listen to GINA!
