Okay so I got my hair rebonded (you know... straightened w/ chemicals?) in the summer of 2007. To my dismay, it thinned out A LOT over the next few months, to the point where I could no even PART my hair, I mean it was noticeable thinning, not me being paranoid, you know what I mean?

And now its 2009 and I guess it's a little bit better but still alarmingly thinned out. I work out, eat a multivitamin, Omega-3 faty acids & Biotin (which is a vitamin the strengthens Keratin, a protein found in nails, hair & skin, EVERYONE should look into this...for some reason it's not that well known =/ )

Anyways, my questions is, did anyone experience alarming thinning due to some harsh chemical damage? ( I still remember I had SCABS on my scalp after I got it rebonded, I had to get it done twice withing 15 days because it didn't straighten out all my curls, aunt's idea -_- , BIG MISTAKE)

I mean after a few years, does it eventually start to fill in? Because it's slightly better than before but I still cant part my hair, its also up at the front/crown so I have to do some backcombing and such... totally scared about this because I'm only 18! )

Anyone? Gina?

Predatory

If you abuse your hair, it does thin out a little bit for some people. However, others dont experience anything.

Anyway, you should look into your diet and see if there is anything you can add in there that will help. Other then that, let your hair recover...do you use any hair oil at all?

Nope, dont use il AT ALL. I hate oil, the smell and everything-_-
But I cant be too picky now, considering my condition. I have a very oily scalp and I know that an over-oily scalp can clog the pores to grow in new hair so I dont wanna add feul to the fire... but I guess I should start w/ oil massages to promote blood circulation.

Anyone get any good results w/ regular oil treatments?

Sleepy

Chemical straightening, no matter what type..Brazillian, Japanese, rebonding contain too many harsh chemicals.. they dry out the hair and may it really brittle and prone to breakage around the roots. It does lead to hairfall.. and the effect sadly doesn't wear-off untill and unless u're entire hair grows back. Keep it in condition and maintain it..switch to a milder shampoo like baby shampoo..and apply a walnut-sized amount of a leave-in conditioner to keep it supple..

Some days are a complete waste of make-up!
