My hands used to be very very soft and smooth 5 years ago (before I got married). Over the years they've gotten very rough and kinda dry. I regularly use hand lotions/cream.... apply it every night before going to sleep, have one in my office as well (apply it after 2 hours) and one near my kitchen sink (apply after loading the dishwasher) but I don't see any improvement in my skin's texture
I do come in contact with water a lot, because of my toddler daughter and kitchen work so I try to keep my hands moisturized as much as possible.
I even tried Body shop's hemp hand cream, which is supposed to be really good. Can anyone recommend some other product that would work better, or any totka which is easy and not smelly/yucky. Thanks

Uhmm, you could try manual exfoliating your hands everyday or every other day. Take a tsp or so of olive oil, add a few drops of lemon and a tsp or so of sugar. Mix and then scrub all over your hands concentrating on areas that are drier and rougher( is that a word?). Wash off.
You can use pure Shea butter as a moisturizer and put on cotton gloves for 15-20 minutes after you apply it. You'll see a difference in matter of days.
And yes, begin getting manicures if you don't already.
I never procrastinate to procrastinate all the time

Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

MV,
Use dishwashing gloves as HNK suggested. The sun can dry out skin and make it look wrinkly, so apply subblock to your hands when you go outdoors.
Moisturizers tend to be absorbed better by our skin....when our skin is a bit damp. So, apply the cream to your hands when they're still a bit damp...don't dry them off completely. This is also recommended for face creams.
Have you tried olive oil? It's loaded with vitamin E....has antioxidants....is anti-bacterial. I find that it softens up my hands well. I find that when i use olive oil, I don't really need to use a hand cream because it does a good job of keeping my hands supple. Massage some olive oil onto damp skin for a few days and see how it feels. And you can seal in the application by wearig gloves as Gina suggested.

Hi MIAinVA,
Have you tried using Hemp Hand Protector from the body shop?
This is really good for dry hands and will make your skin very smooth and soft.
